We stayed in POFQ in March '07 and LOVED it. We liked how quite it was, our daughter loved the pool, we loved the boat to DTD, and the bus service was awesome. We currently have 10 days booked at POFQ for March '08 but we are torn about whether we should try a new resort. We can't talk ourselves into the price of a deluxe and the only other moderate that even interests us is CBR. But it looks so big and spread out. Then when we read it is so big it has it's own bus line for internal transportation that almost made the decision for us. Our March '06 trip was at a Value and we hated how busy the food court was and the buses. I just can't imagine that a resort the size of CBR wouldn't have the same issues. I would really like some input from everyone on this.
Thanks!

I voted for CBR, for no other reason than I prefer the themeing of the resort. I just love the whole island vibe. Yes, its big and spread out, but depending on the time of year you go, you may be able to get a room that close to the pool and food court. So it may not be that bad.

I always thought that themeing should be the biggest factor when picking a hotel in the same price category, because usually everything else is comparable.

I have stayed at both and preferred POFQ BY FAR!! The only Disney resort I have stayed at that I did not like was CBR. I will not go back there, but I would go back to POFQ in a heartbeat.
I felt that CBR was too big and too spread out. I did not like the themeing and my room was "run Down"

I voted for CBR as it is my favorite non DVC resort. But you really can't go wrong with either choice. They are both wonderful resorts. Have a great trip.:goodvibes

I have stayed at both and prefer POFQ by far. I like that the resort is small and not so spread out. The gardens and fountains are beautiful.

I chose POFQ as I like how it is smaller and easier to get around. I haven't stayed at CBR - but I did stay at CS once and really did NOT like how spread out it was. I never even got way back to the pool as after a day at the parks, it was just too far away. (sounds lazy I know - but its true after doing all the walking around CS, the bus stops, AND the parks...you just get tired!)

We like CBR. My kids love it and when we talked about going to a different resort, they freaked!

POFQ. I have stayed at both resorts and have had wonderful stays. I prefer POFQ because it is smaller and more convenient to the food court, pool, and bus stop. The food court at both resorts was never crowded and the food always good. I prefer the pool at the CBR but it is a walk. At the end of the day the walk from the bus stop at CBR was much longer. Have fun planning.

I voted for POFQ because I love the theming there, it is easier to get around in, and bus service is great ( it shares a route with POR, but POFQ is first on and first off). Also, there is the lovely boat ride to Downtown Disney in the evening. The rooms and resort are just beautiful! I have stayed at POFQ 3 times, and I had a 10 day stay at CBR. I liked CBR okay, the Caribbean theme was nice, but I prefer POFQ by far! (DH didn't really like CBR, too spread out IHO.)

I prefer POFQ, but I wouldn't stay there again until after we've stayed at all of them. That's our mission. I would love to try all of them.

Just depends on your taste... CBR is REALLY big, POFQ is small... the styles obviously are completely different. POFQ will be quieter- and has quicker transportation.

I voted POFQ. My family and I love it! We were just not happy with CBR.

I vote for POFQ also. We did a split stay a few weeks ago at CBR and POFQ. It was so far to walk to everything at CBR. My kids loved the pool at POFQ. The "quiet" pool at CBR was very noisy and crowded when we were there. The room seemed run down at CBR and the carpet looked old and stained. It was very dark walking back to our room at night because they didn't have many outside lights on the building for some reason. The beach sand was full of cigarette butts. Having said that, I loved CBR when I stayed there about 10 years ago. I think I had a much better room location then. But I also would choose going to New Orleans over going to the beach so the theme counts for something. If you love a beach atmosphere, you may like CBR. But if you want a quieter, less crowded and smaller walking distances, stay with POFQ.

This might make your decision easier: It seems that the big pool at CBR will be closed for rehab from January 2008 to June 2008. see here: http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/rehabs.htm#jan

So I would suggest to keep CBR for another trip. Perhaps you would want to visit it while you are there in March 2008 for a meal to check it out?

My favorite resort is POFQ!!! I love how small and compact it is. The themeing is just wonderful as is the landscaping. It seems so friendly there..I wish I could remember the Cajin phrase that you always hear. It means something like "life is good" or something like that. It really fits here!!!!

Forgot to say that we have stayed at CBR and it was nice and the food court was ok but there was alot of walking to do and after spending the day walking in the parks, one thing I don't want to do is more walking!!!
