Hi All,
I've never posted here before, but I'm a big fan of The Dis and listen weekly to their content. (It gets me through the work week.) ;-)
We live in VT and are passholders. We just got back from a trip a few weeks ago, and my husband and I took my parents along with us so they could experience what we are always gushing about.
My husband and I just made the decision that I am taking my 5 YO daughter alone for a Mother-Daughter trip before she starts kindergarten in the fall.
Usually we rent DVC and stay at Saratoga- a very underrated resort, IMO.
This time I had planned to stay at All-Star Music, since we just got back from our "big" (read: expensive) yearly trip. I noticed CBR is only $160-ish/ night at the passholder rate for our travel dates at the beginning of August. I know that it has been under extensive renovations, and the general consensus has been to stay far away. As I understand it, though, renos are supposed to be done sometime around Aug/ Sept. It would be an extra ~$250 to stay at CBR over ASM, and it would knock another resort off our "stayed at" list.
FWIW, we just stayed our arrival night for our big trip at ASM. We found it to be a standard All-Star resort. Eh.
What do you guys think? Would you chance it, knowing the renos should be close to wrapped up, even if they're not completely done? Do you think the resort would be put back together enough to be enjoyed? Since it's just my little and me, and we will likely just spend time at the pool(s) and hit the parks, would it be worth it? I've Googled around for construction updates and didn't get much out of it. The most recent one was in early April, and it didn't say too much.
