Just so you know, I was given a FREE Castaway Cay Lanyard that holds park hopper tickets and passes when we were on the Disney Wonder portion of our trip.

On the First day of using our 4 day hopper ticket (after finishing a Wonderful Disney Cruise btw) while riding Epcot's Test Track the CHEAP PLASTIC LANYARD that disney gave us flew up and all our tickets (and the rest of our vacation) dumped out into the air to who knows where?! And yes I did have the lanyard tucked into my shirt.

Do your self a favor and don't trust your whole vacation to the complimentary CHEAP PLASTIC LANYARDs to hold your park tickets and fast passes or credit cards or you just might end up ruining a whole vacation like we almost did.

Luckly we knew someone who was a relative of the Disney Family and managment graciously gave us complimentary tickets to finish the remaining 3 days. THANK YOU DISNEY MGM STUDIOS GUEST RELATIONS FOR SAVING OUR TRIP!

Wow, I'm sorry that happened to you!

That's always been my fear about lanyards - even the nicer ones seem a little flimsy to use for valuable stuff (like park tickets, credit cards, money, etc.). I'm always surprised when I read that people put really valuable stuff like this in them - I guess I'm overly cautious. I'd rather just put things like fast passes in them - if they get lost somehow, it's not the end of the world.

Another favor you can do for yourself is photo copy or write down the numbers on the back of the MYW pass, if you have this information they can be replaced if lost or stolen.

Thanks for the warning and glad things worked out for you :)

Our extended family went on a Disney cruise last year and everybody except us got those free lanyards. Before we set sail on the first day, the wind had whipped my SIL's and all her stuff went flying out, and so did another lady's -- her key card went flying over a rail and landed on the deck below, where I found it. I would've imagined that it'd be windier on the ship deck than in the parks, but who knows!! Good to be careful!

Photo Copy every pass is an excellent Idea. AAA does give you a reciept with the ticket numbers printed on it but I didn't pack it. Because AAA Disney Passes are bought by AAA Travel in bulk quantity not every pass number that you buy from them is consecutive. We found this out while at Guest Relations EPCOT. One of the Test Track Cast Memebers did find one of the missing passes on the floor of the Test Track car along with my drivers licence. From this they were able to reprint my wifes pass because the adult passes were consecutive. The problem came when the childrens passes NOT being consecutive numbers they were lost for good and could not be reprinted. I called AAA in Arizona and they couldn't even find my purchase for the passes. They were absolutly no help at all. If it hadn't have been for a kind Guest Services person at Disney MGM Studios who felt sorry for us (who by the way broke the rules to give us comp 3 day hoppers for my kids) we would have ended the Disney portion of the vacation at that point. We had Bush Garden/Sea World passes already and we really weren't willing to buy a 3 day hopper for the kids since we had spent so much money already.

Strange thing though when we returned back to Arizona to the same AAA Travel Store I talked to the SAME Lady in person that I previously spoke to on the phone in Orlando FL. The pass numbers magically showed up when they scanned my AAA Card! She said they may have had a computer glitch in the system the day I called from Orlando for some reason. Hmmm OK. I don't think I'll buy from AAA till they get their computers fixed. AAA was little help at all. Next time pay the extra couple of dollars and buy them from Disney.
