My parents and I are considering an Alaska cruise next summer. They do not want to miss weekend Mass and so I was on the website for Holy Name Catholic Church in Ketchikan (the port location for Saturday). It appears they have a "Port to Pew" shuttle bus that picks you up from the boat and takes you back after Mass.

From DCL's website, it looks like you don't need to be back on the boat until 7:45 so they'd have plenty of time to get to Mass at 5:30 and back to the boat.

Has anyone done this shuttle? Or is it easier / better to grab a cab?

Hi... I'm new here, but I live in Ketchikan and I thought I'd respond, in case you never got your answer.

There is a really sweet lady who stands on the dock every day with a pink sign for Holy Name Church. She's the one who arranges all the shuttling (or whatever you call it). I'm assuming it's a church van. Anyway... yes, you'll get to mass and back in time. Most of our town kind of operates around the cruise ship schedules... even church services.
