I'm seeing quite a few good deals for Disneyland trips with stays at the Castle Inn and Suites. It doesn't look like that great but it is an okay place if you don't plan on spending much time there? Is the pool okay for a quick cool down?

We are there right now, first time stay here and so far so good. We picked it for the same reasons: proximity to parks and price plus free parking. I read alot of positive reviews and went for it as we are mostly in the parks, but still want a good, safe place. Rooms are dated but have a bit of charm with framed castle prints and drapery. Theres a fridge and micro+ decent storage and a good sized flat screen TV which we havent used yet. We like the square table with 2 chairs and a desk/chair in our double room too. They are at reduced service: there is no daily housekeeping/no on site store open, and soda machines out of service bc they are still practicing the covid masking and social distancing onsite. That's fine, but we are staying 5 nights here and have had to request more towels and trash removal, more coffee (one of those weird single serving coffee makers that uses coffee bags) on day 2. They will do all of that, you just call the front desk and they are at your door for contactless switch out. Maybe reduced service will change soon?
Staff has been friendly and they were putting in new flowers today and other grounds keeping work. Hotel is fully booked right now but pretty quiet considering. We are on 2nd floor towards the back. Room stays dark, with shades, air conditioning is good, shower pressure strong and beds comfy. Appreciate the 4 firm pillows per bed. The pool is small and in the middle of the parking lot with a hot tub but we havent used it. I'm sure it would be fine it's open 8am to 10pm and I saw some kids enjoying it during our hotel break this afternoon.
Here a few more days if you have any other questions.

How is the walk to the parks? Do you cross Harbor at Disney Way or go further and cross near the Park Vue Inn? Thanks!

Also, I hope you are having a great trip!

We've been crossing at the first light, Disney Way or across Harbor then Disney Way (whichever light we get first) and cutting in through that walkway (rather than walking up Harbor any further as it's more pleasant to avoid that corner! ) At that Disney Way intersection, we've hardly had to wait long for a light. I think its maybe 10/12 minutes at a good pace to get to security.

My family and I stayed at the Castle Inn And Suites once and Mom and I had always wanted to stay there because it looked cool so when we stayed at Castle Inn And Suites our expectations were low. From what we saw when we stayed there was like a Motel 6 with a castle theme and the room we had was alright and the beds were very comfortable and the pillows were soft and you can get food delivered to the hotel very easily. Castle Inn And Suites does have a shuttle to Disneyland but we didn't use it but walking to Disneyland was so easy. One word of warning if you ask for a morning wake-up call at Castle Inn And Suites don't bother asking for one because my dad had asked the front desk for a wake-up call so we could leave early to go home and they never rang our room so we just loaded the car and drove home. But it's a nice place but could use improvements
