We are there right now, first time stay here and so far so good. We picked it for the same reasons: proximity to parks and price plus free parking. I read alot of positive reviews and went for it as we are mostly in the parks, but still want a good, safe place. Rooms are dated but have a bit of charm with framed castle prints and drapery. Theres a fridge and micro+ decent storage and a good sized flat screen TV which we havent used yet. We like the square table with 2 chairs and a desk/chair in our double room too. They are at reduced service: there is no daily housekeeping/no on site store open, and soda machines out of service bc they are still practicing the covid masking and social distancing onsite. That's fine, but we are staying 5 nights here and have had to request more towels and trash removal, more coffee (one of those weird single serving coffee makers that uses coffee bags) on day 2. They will do all of that, you just call the front desk and they are at your door for contactless switch out. Maybe reduced service will change soon?
Staff has been friendly and they were putting in new flowers today and other grounds keeping work. Hotel is fully booked right now but pretty quiet considering. We are on 2nd floor towards the back. Room stays dark, with shades, air conditioning is good, shower pressure strong and beds comfy. Appreciate the 4 firm pillows per bed. The pool is small and in the middle of the parking lot with a hot tub but we havent used it. I'm sure it would be fine it's open 8am to 10pm and I saw some kids enjoying it during our hotel break this afternoon.
Here a few more days if you have any other questions.
