No, not in my opinion. For castle club, you get an elevator down to the park gate. A private area for breakfast. Some wine and cheese, free softdrinks through the day at the hotel. And some extra fastpasses. For me this is not worth £500.

The DLH is overpriced - great location, but the service is actually better at the Hotel New York, and it is no where near as great an experience of the other signature resorts around the globe - Grand Californian (DL), Grand Floridian (WDW) etc. We had a great time, the rooms were nice, and a hot character breakfast each morning is cool. But I would rather use the money saved to buy an annual pass, stay at the resort longer and eat at the California Grill. Just my experience though.

The rooms are basically the same as the standard rooms, in size, furniture, etc the only difference is that it has a DVD player.

The extra you paying for is service as the CC are on a private floor with less guest staying there, there is a lift which you access by your room key which takes you to the park entrance, there is private reception, breakfast and afternoon tea in a private lounge, complimentary soft drinks and you can buy alcoholic drinks, plus you get a VIP fast pass.

Its worth every penny.
From the minute you arrive when the bellboy takes your suitcases till you leave and you car is driven for the hotel .

Twice a day the ladies from housekeeping peep in clean and provide new towels.
The VIP passes ere great. You can do all the main attractions as much as you like without standing in line for hours.

.

I have stayed in a standard and castle club and they do the above when you stay in a normal standard room too, :)

our last stay was at the castle club and we really liked having the privat lift down into the park. we went last october and the weather was a bit changable so it meant that we could just pop back to the room to drop of coats and stuff quickly.
the other benifits we really liked were the VIP fastpasses and the smaller breakfast room but we can get all that with a suite at the NBC and it is cheaper!

thanks for all the replies still don't know what to do it seems an awful lot more money and i'm not sure how much we would be there in the pm to make the use of tea and cakes etc..

what is the NBC is this the newport bay suites i read quite alot of bad reviews on the newport bay?

any more views

Yep. Personally I would say get a suite at the Hotel New York if you want a real pampering experience. Personally I think it is a much better value and service than the DLH.

Do you also get an afternoon thea in hotel New York?

You even get the second service in the standard rooms of the Hotel New York. We just returnded from HNY. And this is not new, we had this service also during our stay in January 2006.

June 2007

And you even get this service at the Admiral Floor in the NPBC. The housekeeping replaces used towels and makes your bed ready for the night.

WE were given VIP fast passes at Easter (as a gift from Disney due to a mix up when paying fr our trip)
We found them very useful as the park was heaving so it meant we didnt have to think about queuing or getting normal FPs and returning on time.
However I think you need to look at when you are going. Will park be heaving that you really need these? Also will you do the rides that have FP? The main rides we used them for were BTM and PP but we could have done PP in EMH.

Ive never stayed at DLH so cant really comment but seems lot extra esp for things you may not use - (Fast passes, afternoon tea)

We go once a year and then the Christmas days.
Its really busy that time of year and our impression is that without the passes you just can do one ore perhaps two times an attraction per day and certainly with the new time restrictions.

Its also so great to return to the hotel in a few moments, step into the warm elevator and sit in the CC lounge with a nice warm cup of tea or coffee and look over the park.

For us no other hotel can beat that feeling buts its very personal what and how everyone thinks about spending your money.
For the same reason we chose the Grand Floridian in WDW next year. We also stay at the concierge level there under practical the same conditions as the Disney Hotel.

I have to admit the DL Hotel is nicest in winter.

As for the Grand Floridian, I hope you have a great time. I hope you enjoy it. Personally I prefer the themes of the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, but that's the beauty of disney, there is something for everyone.

Could you imagine that we all stayed in the same hotel and the crouds there?

Thank god there is a choice and hotel for every one.

What we liked about CC was the convenience, DD who is 5 won't stay at the parks all day likes to go back to the hotel, so we can go back quickly and when the parade is on we can pop down to the park just to watch the parade, If the weather suddenly made a turn for the worse for example we had a hail storm we could quickly get back to our hotel staying mostly under cover, the lounge was nice to go back and have a quiet drink somewhere that was not busy, without having to queue, find a table etc.

However with regards to the afternoon tea - I don't think there is many people who are going to eat £500 worth of cookies and cakes.

Our room was less than a minute from the park, hotel shop, and main street lounge and over looked fantasia gardens. We could hear the piano from the bar till gone passed midnight very loudly. ,Most of the maintenance of Fantasia gardens happens during the night so we could hear people cutting down trees, large vehicles driving around through the night till park opening, They was also a lot of work happening in the park which would also make noise.

The fast passes can be great however I actually got more use out of it when the park was less busy, DLRP does not have many Fast pass rides, DD loves BTM so it was great that she could go on as many times she wants, often with no wait at all while the main queue had a wait of 30minutes, other than that we only used the fast pass ride for Peter Pan and Buzz Lightyear, the buzz lightyear fast pass queue did not cut much of it out. DD was to young to go on the other fast pass rides. Rides in fantasy land had almost no queue so we could do pretty much all the rides with no wait which if we did not have tha fast pass we would not have.

On the weekend the queues were massive, rides in fantasyland with queues up to 2 hours long, so with Fastpass you still face long queues with the non fastpass rides and also longer queues with the fastpass rides. If you are a roller coaster fan the VIP fastpass maybe more use to you when it is busy as you have more fastpass rides to choice from.

However with regards to the afternoon tea - I don't think there is many people who are going to eat £500 worth of cookies and cakes.

As good Dutch merchants we count different.

We are with four adults and take a late breakfast, no need to hurry thanks the vip passes.

Where no big eaters.
We don’t need a midday meal so that saves in three days plus /minus 180 pounds.
Also the soft drinks in the afternoon and evening are paid so that also around 180 pounds.
Then you get a totally different bill at the end.

Don’t forget the Your Guests Are Our Guests policy.

If you have friends visiting the park at the same time you may invite them to take breakfast ore the afternoon tea with you for free.
That’s such a lovely gesture.

i'm getting even more mixed up now , please help someone!!!!

any views on the admiral floor at newport bay is this like a standard room at dlh
