We are a party of 8 and have found private excursions, or excursions booked outside of Disney, are more cost effective.

In Castaway or Lookout is there an option for a private fishing charter or a charter outside of Disney for 8 people? I know the islands are “private” but I wasn’t sure if there’s a marina with locals offering excursions as well.

Open to any and all recs! Thanks!

Not at Castaway, as there is no other marina.

Eleuthera does have fishing charters, but I am not sure how that would work in relation to a DCL cruise. I don't think Disney would let a charter tie up at their marina. So, you would need to have transport to pick up the charter boat.

If you are interested in a private charter from outside vendor, you might find one that would provide transport and boat trip. This one will pick up Princess guests; the Princess beach compound is 9 minutes north of Lighthouse Point.

They are local and well-reviewed on TripAdvisor. I have no experience with them. But Princess Cruises has an established presence in Eleuthera, so you might find info related to that.

We did the Castaway fishing charter in November and it was great. We are a family of 4 and for the boat we were on, I do not see how 8 could fit. If I recall, they only book 2 fishing charters each day (one morning and one afternoon). If you are Concierge you have a good shot of booking it if you request when your concierge requests start. Of course, there may be cancellations. Have fun!

@ngl - Do you think this was the one you did? They do limit it to 4 guests. I had wondered how many 4-person boats they offered. Sounds like it may be one boat at a time.

Yes that is the excursion we did. (and sorry that was for our cruise this past March, not November!) There was one boat in the morning for 4 people and one in the afternoon for 4. So very limited offerings. Not sure how much interest they get but sounds like both book early all the time.
