Castaway Day - length of time to walk

How far (in miles or minutes) from the ship to Serenity Bay on foot?

I've ridden the bike and the tram, but never walked it. Is the walk as boring as it looks?

I know what a two mile walk is for me at home, but I can't estimate the distance looking at the Castaway Cay map.

I think it's less. The castaway 5k is pretty much there and back plus they add in a couple loop de loops so maybe less than 1.5 miles.

I used the measurement tool on Google Earth (yeah, I'm a geek) and figured it's roughly 1.2 miles, give or take a tenth.

The walk from the ship to the Serenity Beach tram stop (Buy the Sea Shore shop) isn't so bad. You pass by the sights, can stop for photos and beach pictures etc. The walk from there along the runway to Serenity Beach.... Yea, it is about as boring as you can hope. No shade, just hot asphalt. It isn't terribly far, but more adventageous to take the tram, unless you plan on walking to the observation tower.

If you do walk, I recommend adding the loop to the observation tower. If you haven't done it, it's something new. We usually leave the ship at 10:30, walk to Serenity Bay via loop and the walk down past the cabanas. We get to the buffet at 11:30 and eat before hitting the beach for a couple of hours.

I walked there when I went in Nov. I enjoyed the walk. Took less than 30 min to walk it.

It is a nice walk, if it isn't too hot and humid. Pack water!
