DH and I have been on 2 DCL cruises, and will be on our 3rd in July. During our 2nd, through poor planning, we did not make the CC party. Could somebody please let me know what goes on...is it worth my time away from something else...is it neat to go *just b/c you can*? Just looking for a little input.

Well u may get to chat with the Officers and the Captain ...

Have a few free rum punch drinks and some small appitizers

Chat with other cruisers and it is not that big of a deal to miss...
If u have something else fun planned do that ...

We never miss it, but that's because after 37 cruises it's become a point of pride!
Personally, I think the best part is chatting with the captain and crew, and it's a good place to get a photo with the captain too. The snacks are okay, but not a necessity since you can pick up plenty of snacks at Pluto's or one of the other quick service places if you are hungry mid-day. The drinks are another matter...it's one of the very few places you'll ever find a free alcoholic drink on the ship!

I enjoyed them more in the early days when there were not as many repeat cruisers. Now it often takes up the entire Beat Street area! We also don't drink so no need to go for that

Ah yes, Mary, I remember those days too! Sometimes the officers and staff outnumbered the repeaters.

On the Magic Easter Cruise, The captain told us that 80 % of the people on board were repeat cruises.

Let's remember though, that the repeat cruisers help DCL to expand and possibly add more itineraries.
