Hi All
I am doing my 10th cruise in May and will be a gold member. I then get off and get on my 11th cruise the next day. How does it work. Will I be recognized as platinum and get the free Palo dinner etc. when I check in currently it states I am gold but will it update when I’m on my 11th cruise. Will they know I’ve just completed 10 the day before. Hope that makes sense

I have a similar question but will be going from Silver to Gold on a back to back in September. I'm wondering if they'll know this. I don't think we get anything special for Gold anyway? Just curious...

I thought I saw something similar on vlogs from The UK staycation cruises last summer. They did a back to back and the Castaway Club level changed after the first cruise. I think what they did was go to guest services after being cleared to back on the ship and they got the new lanyard and the status was updated.

Based on the date of your cruises, I believe your booking window as passed and therefore you are talking only about the online perks.

You’ll become Platinum in their system the second you are checked out of your 10th cruise. Therefore, when you check-in for your 11th cruise, they’ll know your real status. There is no delay. Your in-room gift will be the Platinum gift and you’ll be able to claim your Palo credit

We switched from Gold to Platinum between the two legs of a B2B. We checked-in for the second cruise about 5 minutes after checking out of the first and the system was already aware of our new status.

I didn’t do this vlog but this situation happened to me on the staycation cruises and I had to go to GS for my black lanyard. My keycard said gold so you’d have needed GS to update that too if you wanted a platinum one. My CC account did update later that day showing I was platinum.

I also only got the gold gift in my room but they did call me later in the cruise asking what platinum gift I wanted.

Our status did not change between cruises on our B2B in august. We received the same silver lanyard and gifts for the second cruise, when they should have been gold. Guest services fixed it, but they said their computer systems did not update quickly enough to know your status changed on a B2B. Maybe the new computer upgrade fixed this issue.

Just visit guest services on your second cruise if your status doesn’t update automatically.

You’ll have to do the legwork because their system isn’t that fast. It took about 10 days for the system to switch me to Platinum officially

Especially on a B2B as that cruise was already being ‘readied to sail’ before you embarked on your first cruise

This happened to my parents in February when they went from new to silver. As others have said, you'll have to go to guest services to get your new rewards. Gold members get luggage tags and some discounts.

When we went to guest services, they actually called someone shoreside to verify that my parents should have status. So, their computer system off the ship updates fast enough, but the on-ship information doesn't. Still, it's kind of weird that they didn't plan for this. They knew that we were cruising B2B and they prepared for it in so many other ways, so why not also determine CC status for the second cruise in advance?
