I was just looking at the DCL web site under the Castaway Club link.

"Castaway Club News and Special Offers
Be among the first to receive word about exciting news surrounding Disney Cruise Line and to receive valuable offers to re-live the magic you experienced on previous cruises. As a Castaway Club guest, we'll float news and offers your way through the mail or e-mail. And to keep up to date with all that Disney Cruise Line has to offer, be sure to visit disneycruise.com. "

Has anyone ever received any notification about news or special offers for Castaway members?

I've never received a single thing (outside my stateroom gift) from the CC, not even my membership card

The only thing I have gotten was a card about 6 weeks after we cruised I got the card and some paperwork in the mail. In May we should getthe gift! I very well could have gotten something in the mail from it but between the Disney Club, Disney Visa and other Disney things I get I don't know which comes from where half the time....

I've received the card, the stateroom gift the last 3 cruises, but never any updates in the mail.

And we did sign up. DH got a membership card a few months after our first cruise but besides invites to the CC reception and our stateroom gift we have never heard anything from the castaway club

We get a gift!?! Yay!!!! I love getting presents almost as much as I love giving them! We cruised in 2000, but I've never received anything other than my card and initial CC membership info.

Yes. Gifts are good. VERY good. You'll get one when you cruise again, as well as the Captain's Reception for repeat cruisers -- that would be YOU! :)

We cruised for the first time the end of August and have not received anything yet in the mail. Are we supposed to get some kind of notification that we are now castaway clud members? Is there someone I can call? Thanks. We will be cruising next August 21st. Can't wait!!!

I cruised in December 2000, got a letter sometime after I got home welcoming me to the club, and that is it. No card, no nothing. Guess I will have to write DCL and see what's up. Not that I plan on ever cruising DCL again, but maybe if the price dropped A LOT, I could at least think about it.

We have cruised once a year since 2000 and have never received updates or special offers nor the "newsletter".

We cruised back in Aug 2000 and received a Post card from Mickey and a member card. But that has been it. I actually forgot I had it until booked my next cruise for July 04 and the TA asked if I was a castaway club member. I had to go digging in a drawer, but I found my card and member number.

DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOU CARD WITH YOU SINCE THEY ALREADY HAVE MY NUMBER ON THE RESERVATION? IF I DO I HAVE UNTIL JUNE TO FIND THEM!!!

No, you do not need to have your card with you. As long as it is noted on your ressie you will be fine.

Went on our third cruise in Sept., second and third times got the gift (currently a beach towel) and the pins. Never got anything at all in the mail. I call 1-800-449-3380 and gave them my name and address, and they gave me my "Castaway Club Number", which you give to your TA when you make your ressies, and then you get the gift when you sail, and an invite to the cocktail reception.

I didn't really know anything about the Castaway Club until almost 4 weeks before our cruise. I called and asked about it, and they gave me my CC number over the phone and noted it on my reservation. It allows you to check in the CC line at the terminal (sometimes the line is just as long as the regular check in line), and you get a gift, thank you card, and invitation to the Captain's Reception on your Castaway Cay day. I didn't make it to the reception this time around, but I've heard that many people do not care for it since it's pretty crowded.

 I may not be a real frequent cruiser BUT I just finished my fifth DCL cruise and have never gotten anything snail mail or e-mail on special offers.

I'm afraid that DCL may be asleep at the helm on this one.

Thanks for the heads-up on where to check into it.

We always enjoy the Repeat Cruiser Reception. Most of the people there are DISers. Also it is a photo op with the captain.

They used to send out a newsletter called the Disney Insider, but they have not done that in about 2 years. From time to time I have received mailings with postcards to pass along to potential cruisers for a shipboard credit for them, but have not received that in a while.

I wish they would do the newsletter again. I sure enjoyed reading that!
