Castaway Club documentation

We are sailing on another line next summer that will match our Silver status from the Castaway Club, providing I can give them documentation that includes DCL logo, name, status level, and number, all on the same page. That includes a screen shot from their webpage.

I called DCL and they said they can't give us a letter? The best they offered was an email with our names, status, and numbers - no logo or letterhead. It could come from anyone. When I log on to the DCL website, I can get the screen with DCL at the top and my first name with info. I can get a list of me and the kids with last names and info but no DCL on the screen and my dh is nowhere to be found.

I supposed an old key card would have worked, but our last cruise was a year ago and none of us are the key saving sort.

Any ideas?

The other cruise line won't accept header information on that DCL email to prove where it came from? I mean, anyone with Photoshop could mock up a letterhead with logo just as easily as one could fake an email header.

Take the screenshot showing you and the kids. You may have to create a castaway account for your husband to show his status.

You can log into your Castaway Club account and you'll see a page with the DCL logo and you level and number showing. It also indicates how many cruises. If you click on "View your cruises" it will show the specifics of the cruises (room #/dates/ship). You could take a screen shot of that to give the other line.

Each person would have to have their own account, however to get individual information.

What line will match your status? That's the first I've heard of such a thing.

But that CC page only displays your first name, right? It wouldn't say if you are Shmoo Fitzgerald, Shmoo Wozniak or Shmoo Robinson.

Well, I also have a Castaway Club card showing my full name and number. It would show that Shmoo, id number 2134566 is Shmoo Robinson. :teeth:

Although I'm aware that no everyone has received a card. That would be something the Castaway Club could supply the OP. Along with the screen capture, it would verify their status.

Yes, MSC. My mom got a card, but we never did. I do have the screen shot, but yes, no last name. I submitted a screen shot and will call to see if that's good enough.

Dh and I share an email. I can't get his own login without a separate email. Call me simple, but I don't like to have to keep up with more than one account. I might have to give in, though.

MSC accepted the screen shot with just my first name, number and Castaway Club level status. I cropped it to just show the information in the top, left corner of the home page.

How many cruises does one need to take before becoming a Castaway Club member?

Your keycard on your first Disney cruise has your castaway number on it. :)

Eta: there are no perks on that first cruise though. Second cruise you get a lanyard and one present for the stateroom. After five cruises you move up.

The op is talking about silver status, which is the lowest rung Which is what my family is too. (Also still lowest rung on Royal-we really need to cruise more) Not sure I would bother to show that to another cruise line. I'd have to read the MSC page to see if it's worth it. :)

houseofduck, good to know!

If we get a status match we get a 5% discount on the cruise (which is already 2:1, sweet!), $50 OBC, and maybe something else. Every little bit counts, plus it allows us to get a head start on upping our status on MSC if we want to keep sailing them. I'm pretty stoked, as we're doing 7 days in the Med, in concierge, for 9K total for 6 of us - two 300sq ft (plus balcony) verandah staterooms, free drinks, private pool, lounge, and restaurant. It's 17K on DCL, without any concierge. Can't really compare apples to apples, as the DCL concierge stateroom is a one bedroom suite, but the services would cost us 32K total. :scared: Sailing MSC lets us do a week in France first.

Since MSC's loyalty program is based on points, it would be interesting to see how they apply their "match"

Maybe awarding points based on lowest level? So, just using the Bella points?

Gee, that way I'd be Gold on MSC.

I know that DCL platinum matches to MSC black and DCL gold matches to MSC gold. I think DCL silver matches to MSC silver. When you get the match, MSC will give you the lowest number of points for that level. For example, DCL gold matches to MSC gold with 4,300 points. If you don't cruise with them, the points expire in two years. I believe this is true of any points you "earn" on MSC.

And all your family, too, if they are part of your "managed guests". Great info!

How do you see your family members' Castaway Club status? I manage my children, but I don't see their affiliations. I only see them in my "Friends and Family" list with an Edit button to edit their name, age, and character.
