Hi everyone! My husband, daughter and I cruised two years ago, so we are Silver CC members, but my younger daughter was not born yet at the time. Will this affect early booking of excursions and character meet and greets on our upcoming cruise? Will we not be able to book early because we want to include her? Thanks!

Nope! You are good. As long as one person in your stateroom is a certain CC level, that whole cabin can book those things. Perhaps she won't get her own Silver lanyard, I don't know if the gifts for returning members are by cabin or per person.

Have fun!

As long as your youngest daughter is staying in the same room as you are, you will be able to book activities for her at the same time as the rest of the family. We had this situation with my daughter, who has been 1 cruise behind the rest of the family because I was 4 months pregnant on our first cruise. My husband and I are now Platinum, and we were able to book our daughter on excursions during the Platinum booking window for our next cruise. I am fairly sure that everyone in a stateroom is granted the booking status of the person with the highest Castaway Club status in that room.

When we booked a cruise with my mother-in-law a few years ago, though, she was in a separate room so, although our reservations were linked, we couldn't book excursions for her until the first-time cruiser booking window opened.

Exactly so. Online Check In & the activities booking windows both open based on the highest Castaway Club level in the room. As long as the new cruiser is in a room with a Silver CC member, they are included.

Only the actual returning cruisers get the lanyard, so the new cruiser won't.

I'm Gold and my husband has never been on a DCL cruise before. He was able to book the initial reservation on booking day for me using my CC number. Then when it was time to book the excursions and whatnot, I was able to book for the both of us with no problems. I don't think he's going to care if he doesn't get a lanyard but seeing as how I have so many, if it really bothers him that much, he can have mine! :D

Actually, my father received a lanyard when he checked in with my mother. He hadn't gone on any cruises with us but since my mother was given her silver lanyard, he was given one as well. He may have been an "exception", but just wanted share our experience that they did indeed give out a la yard to a 1st-time cruiser

Does it happen, yes. Is it a regular practice, no.

We took our adult daughter and her hubby on a cruise last year.

DW and I got our Platinum lanyard, DD got her gold and new hubby didn't get anything :( We gave the kids our platinum ones (we have lots) because we don't wear them around the ship. DW has her small traveling purse and I have these new fanggled things called pockets!!

I never realized the "people" pay attention to the color of your lanyard. Other guests would randomly stop them and ask them questions about the ship- because they "had cruised" so often. Even the crew would interact with them "differently" - asking about their prior cruises. DD obviously could answer questions (having been on all of the ships) and about cruising, but her hubby was at a bit of a loss. --Who Knew!!-- I didn't!

Well, that's part of the reason. So that CMs can make the returning cruiser feel "at home" by recognizing that they've cruised before.
