Castaway Club contact number

Why does DCL have a special call in number for Castaway Club members?

It seems to go to the same place and have the same wait times as the regular number as one of us called the main number and one the Castaway number at the same time and there was no discernible difference in time that you could speak to a cast member.

Yes, they share this number .. I used to think it was an "exclusive" number as well. But their website indicates the following:

A Castaway Club-exclusive phone number for Disney cruise reservations—call (800) 449-3380.
Dedicated Castaway Club toll-free number—call for details, to ask questions or to book your next cruise

I was told it skips you to the front of the queue. No clue if that is true or not but that's what the phone agent said when I asked because I thought the same thing.

I used to work for the DCL reservation center a looooooong time ago and answered the Castaway Club calls as well. It does not skip you to the front of the queue and it does not go to special agent. It's purpose is merely for DCL to have an idea as to where you are finding your contact info so that they can determine the effectiveness of the various areas of their marketing. It also appears on the screen for the agent to see that the incoming call is from the CC line, and in theory it should also display your castaway number if you enter it in, but most of the time I was never able to see the number on my phone and usually had to ask the guest for their number anyway.

I knew it!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the info. Guess in the future I wont take the extra time to look up that club number but just call the main number.

I am platinum and DCL has told me their is no specific number based on status, sucks......
