Castaway Cay Snorkeling....is the water clear?

I've heard that the water @ Castaway Cay can become cloudy if you don't snorkel early in the day. Has anyone else had this problem & what is the latest time to attempt snorkeling? Thanks

I would recommend snorkling right away as once people get in it and start kicking around the sand gets the water kinda murky in the snorkle area. It is not so bad that you can't see at all and gets clearer the farther out you go but for the best experience we ususally snorkle before 11am!

We usually snorkel early, but I've snorkelled late in the day and bever had a problem. The beach area gets pretty cloudy with silt, but out in the deeper areas (where the good stuff is) I've yet to have a problem.

I have also snorkerled there later in the day and it was perfectly clear. We had a blast.
