When we're vacationing in the World, if a particular CM(s) stands out in either a direct or indirection manner I'm typically vigilant in filling out compliment cards stating as much. The best interactions that we've had thus far both included a CM and my daughter - one in October '12, one in April '13 - and for whatever reason I didn't fill out a compliment card either time. I remembered once we returned home and each time it bothered me as it's not something I usually forget to do, and even more so since the October experience was the #1 for the last decade.
A couple of nights ago I dug out the guest services e-mail address and wrote an e-mail expressing my compliments for both occasions. A little after 6pm this evening my home phone rang; it was Walt Disney World calling! It was the manager of one of the cast members I had complimented calling to thank me for thanking them. It was utterly charming and completely unexpected (I've never received a follow-up to a compliment nor did I provide my phone number in the e-mail. I can only assume that they received it as it's information provided on my WDW.com account.); she let me know the second compliment had been forwarded to the respective manager and that both CMs were recognized in their announcement meetings.
I never knew what happened, if anything, when a compliment was submitted so knowing that Disney does listen is awesome.
