Cass, Rob & Kira - UO & Disney Fantasy - Two Old Farts and a Teenager

Happy Birthday!🎂

Your trip reports always inspire me to write mine. Another great one so far

Aww, thanks. :goodvibes

I love your trip reports, thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the next installment. I have no clue when my next cruise will be so I will live through you 😄

Thanks! I do the same when I don't have a cruise planned. :teeth:

That could be! Both times we were in non-connecting!
Not all the way aft. Ok, so I will give up the room numbers, but I hope it doesn't bite me later when I can't book them because all your readers want them now! :rotfl2:. The rooms I always book on deck 7 are 7152 (port) or 7650 (starboard)they are right at the bump out on the aft section and like I said, the kiddies can run the hallway but then they have to slow down right before to make that zig zag, or they go splat right into the wall. LOL They have those rooms on each floor, so you can choose how high or low on the ship you want. The verandas are a bit more private too.

Oh good heavens! I can't believe I couldn't figure out youtube! 😞

We were right around the corner from that area and believe me, it did NOT stop the kids from running. In fact, I saw several who were going too fast and they bashed into the walls. :crazy2:

But I'm glad you found something that works for you guys! :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

I saw Rob's hair blowing in the wind!

You're pretty funny! I think we would get along. :lmao:

I figured it was super windy when Rob didn't have on his hat. I know that I take mine off when it gets windy as I know how things can take off and blow away. We lost a bag of souveniers in Saint Marten when we were on a cruise. It just blew out of my hand while we were walking on the dock back to the Magic and was floating in the water. The security people were giving me heck and I said well I didn't plan on it leaving my hand so now hold everything tightly when it is windy. I had to go back to the shop and rebuy the can coozies that were in the bag.

Oh no!!! That sucks! And they gave you crap for it too? Geez. :rolleyes2

Yes, he was holding onto that hat for dear life, it's his favourite hat ever, his Rise of the Resistance hat from DHS! I've been looking the last couple of visits but can't find it, they don't sell it anymore. :sad2:

Oh I love this day. And I really love that you have no qualms about doing, well, nothing. Like you're home. When we cruised, I always felt the need to always do something and the guilt would always get to me if we sat down. You don't feel the guilt and that is amazing. I need to do that when we decide to cruise next time. Ok, so your walk all the way outside to the bow, you said its as far as they "allow". Is there someone to stop you from going all the way forward? I've never seen anyone? I wonder why they would stop you.

Awesome as always Cass, loving it.

Oh Jill, we LOVE doing nothing!:laughing:

Our first few cruises, maybe even the first 10, we felt like we needed to do ALL the stuff but now we just like being on the ship, we're happy with good food and time chilling together. :lovestruc

The forward gangplank was for CM's only and then they had a rope across just past that point, we couldn't go past. I've never seen that before, maybe it was because of the wind? :confused3

I'm so excited that I made it into a Cass trip report. I feel famous. And still bummed that we didn't get a picture of you and Logan.

Jen also reminded me that we didn't get a photo of us together on Scarlet Lady either! What the heck were we thinking??? :rolleyes2

Oh no, Logan loves the strawberry/banana cones.

I think he enjoyed the strawberry but not the banana? He was definitely missing his coconut, that's his fave! ::yes::

Aww man, what is going on with the no-show cookies? Bummer. Sorry to hear your new room came with noises, too :(
Enjoying an empty ship on a port day is the best!!

Yeah, it was weird! They always have cookies there.

It really is! :thumbsup2

Yes his name is AJ, I recognize him from our November 2021 Fantasy cruise. We loved him. In fact Logan just found him on Instagram, so he is following him now.

Yeah, I can see why, he's very outgoing! :rotfl2:

Love your reports! Joining in!

Thanks, glad you're here! :goodvibes

Yes! I liked the shirt, yet I didn't like the actual style of the shirt....so I haven't bought one either.

That's how it was on our Alaskan cruise the first night going up from Seattle. Insane winds!

I am laughing hysterically at your wind video

I wish it had been more plain, loved the colour and logo!

Did you do inside or outside passage?

It would have been funnier if my hair was still long. :rotfl2:

She was truly a pirate, on pirate night ;)

She sure was! pirate:

Such a great trip report so far!!! The food porn :lovestruc pictures!!! It looks like you had some great meals!

It sucks that your second room was noisy. I wouldn't want a noisy room either. I'm not a light sleeper, but I do tend to get up often at night, so it would bother me as well.

Can't wait to hear more

The food was quite delicious! 😋

That video is priceless! The boat must have been rocking quite a bit!

It actually wasn't too bad that evening but we started rocking quite a bit overnight! ::yes::

:bday: Happy Belated 50th Birthday Cass!!!! :bday:

It looks like you had an amazing birthday on your cruise minus the fact that you had to move due to noise.

I wonder if it is a Canadian thing as I also celebrated my 50th birthday onboard the Disney Fantasy in March 2019 (we're from Ontario) and my 50th birthday was also day 2 of our cruise!!!!

I wanted to do something special to remember my 50th and you can never go wrong with WDW and DCL. It was just my Mom and I on the cruise (we normally cruise with a bunch of friends) so we spent a lot of time "chilling" in the room watching movies and napping. I think it was one of our best cruises because it was so relaxing. I celebrated my actual birthday with brunch and dinner at Palo and was so thankful that they did not sing happy birthday.

I'm looking forward to following along on the rest of your cruise and I sure hope that the wind died down.

Awww, thanks! :blush::blush::blush:

That sounds like a lovely cruise and definitely the way to spend your 50th. :cool1:

The winds continued almost to the end. ::yes::

Oh my, that was quite the wind that night!!!

But huzzah for the return of pirate night shenanigans, complete with daughter pilaging lol

I will forever remember how windy this cruise was. ;)

We definitely had some pirate-y fun. 🏴‍☠️

Awe, thanks for the shout out! We enjoyed meeting you and your family. Happy belated birthday 🎂. Breakfast at the Royal Court with Ronny and the gang was delicious. We had a fantastic cruise and are going on a 3 night in May for Mike’s birthday.

Mmmmm......Palo. We have only ever done Remy once, we did brunch. No desire to do the dinner there. Brunch was amazing but it was a one and done for us. Palo on the other hand.....gotta do it ;-)

awww that is a sweet gift basket to come back to :)

Another great trip report. I had to catch up with it all as I got way far behind!! You guys are like us, and even when things aren't perfect it's still a great cruise. Too much to comment on, so just enjoying it along with you. :thumbsup2

March 29th, Part 2

Time for dinner at Enchanted Garden. Table 52 was a rounded table, not my fave because there's less room for all of our plates but it made up for it with a great view.

465.jpg

466.jpg

We noticed that Dean got a new name tag today! He finally got his "Scotland" name tag after almost three months! He was very happy :cool1: I can't recall the story behind why his original one said United Kingdom. :scratchin

467.jpg

Rob's soup...

468.jpg

My entrée from Royal Court,

469.jpg

Rob's entrée

470.jpg

Kira's entrée from AP...

471.jpg

Some desserts...

472.jpg

473.jpg

474.jpg

The rolls served tonight are Rob's fave! Country current rolls they call them and he ate a lot of them. :rotfl2:

Dean was even kind enough to get some to go for him. I was very grateful to our dining team for getting those entrées for Kira and I. We really hadn't cared for what was on the menu tonight so their efforts made sure we were happy campers! :worship:

475.jpg

And now it was time for the show! We couldn't have asked for a better seat!

476.jpg

477.jpg

478.jpg

479.jpg

Back to the room to change for the pool.

480.jpg

Kira went to Vibe, there was an activity that she wanted to try. I headed into the pool...almost didn't make it. This is me trying to overcome the coldest pool temperature of the cruise so far. :lmao:

482.jpg

I eventually made it but I think tonight I actually spent more time in the hot tub than the pool. :teeth: Rob enjoyed his two hours of reading. :cloud9:

481.jpg

This was the quietest night at the hot tubs so far. Normally, there were a few groups enjoying a soak but about 20 minutes in, I was all alone. Sadly, the jets were pitiful.

483.jpg

Just before 10, Kira showed up and told us all about her adventure at Vibe. No one else was around, so we chatted at the pool.

484.jpg

I got dried off and they went in search of a snack and an adventure.

485.jpg

This bar up here was always busy, whereas the one by the adult pool was always dead.

486.jpg

It was seriously windy still and Kira ended up with ice cream in her hair.

They played some more mid-ship while I headed back to the room.

487.jpg

Jordan Caswell was playing amazing music in the Atrium again tonight.

488.jpg

Kira and Rob came back shortly thereafter, she needed a shower because her hair was all sticky.

We were all in bed by midnight.

Tomorrow is our Falmouth day.....or is it? :poop:

We did the same thing, ordered the Royal Court steak and potatoes our second time back at Animators Palace. Disney is very good about adjusting the menu if you ask in advance. The pool at night would be like a polar plunge! You are a true Canadian.

March 30th, Part 1

I can do this whole day in one part because instead of this being our Falmouth day, it actually ended up as a sea day. Looking at the waves here, you might be able to figure out why. :magnify:

489.jpg

The captain announced that the winds were too strong to dock at Falmouth. We were on the other side of the ship so I'm not sure how close we got, but it looks like there might have been an attempt.

490.jpg

I felt bad for those who hadn't been here before and had excursions planned but we were just fine with another sea day.

Ronny & Dean were at Cabanas today so we went to Enchanted Garden and got a nice quiet corner with a view.

491.jpg

Boring old usual, sorry. :p

492.jpg

No idea why Rob received a random hashbrown. :lmao:

493.jpg

And it was more of the same for us that day, we did what we love, time on the verandah, movies on the TV, cookies for breakfast, chilling together as a family.

494.jpg

At one point, it sprinkled a little.

495.jpg

Before we knew it, it was lunch time. The family pool was very busy and I found a cute little dog hanging out, all by his lonesome. pluto:

496.jpg

I went with Rob to Cabanas, to keep him company while he ate. Kira joined us for a bit at the end and then Kira and I went to Flo's to grab ourselves some chicken strips to take back to the room.

498.jpg

499.jpg

We finished watching Big Hero 6 together. At one point, while we were snuggling, I looked at them, looked at the TV and let out a big chuckle and said "We're doing exactly what we do at home!" :lmao:

And then Kira said "Yeah but I can have cookies for breakfast, you don't have to cook and dad gets to read and we're doing what we love!"

She has a really good point there. ::yes:::laughing:

500.jpg

Kira enjoyed some ocean views before heading to dinner. This is the tank top that we got her at the outlet, the same one I bought myself in 2020 for double the price. :rolleyes2

501.jpg

So Rob and Kira headed for dinner, just the two of them. Tonight was the Captain's Gala menu, the one full of seafood and honestly, there isn't a single thing on that menu that I would order so I typically skip this meal to enjoy a quiet dinner by myself. I figured I would stay out of Alain's way for about an hour, go check out the shops and stuff until he was done with our room and then grab myself a burger and enjoy a nice quiet meal in the room while I watched a movie. :thumbsup2

First, I checked out the Atrium...

502.jpg

There were TONS of characters tonight! Captain Hook, Smee, Peter Pan, many of the princesses and more!

504.jpg

I then enjoyed a lovely sunset from deck 4.

505.jpg

It was gorgeous but it sure wasn't quiet. There was a guy about 100 feet away from me with his air pods in, listening to music and singing loudly along to whatever he was listening to. And he was not a good singer. :crazy2:

506.jpg

The second it set, I headed to the top decks, where I spotted the cutest thing. The characters were behind this curtain, awaiting their grand entrance for a dance party that was happening on the main deck and they were all dancing together to the music, in a circle. :goodvibes :rotfl2:

507.jpg

508.jpg

509.jpg

The Aquaduck wasn't running that whole entire day, too windy I guess.

510.jpg

I watched the show for a bit and then headed for the shops. It was nice perusing the stores while they were practically empty! I ended up buying two prints, which I will eventually frame and put up in our bedroom and then I also bought one of these for Boo. :dog2:

511.jpg

I ended up back in the Atrium, where it as much quieter now and then headed to our stateroom to choose the movie I would watch.

I keep forgetting that this Café is on this ship!

512.jpg

When I got the the room, roughly 70 minutes after we all left, it hadn't been turned down. :( Ugh, well that didn't work out! I should have eaten first but when we left, Alain was next door so I figured he would be doing our room next. When I left again, I saw Alain about 5 doors down and I asked him when he thought he would be getting to our room and he said he would be finished with his current room in ten minutes and then heading to ours next. That would be right around when Rob and Kira would be finishing their dinners.

Speaking of which, they managed to take some pics of their evening...

516.jpg

513.jpg

514.jpg

515.jpg

Ronny helping Kira out with her lobster...

517.jpg

Just in case you're wondering who orders all of the desserts each night. :rolleyes1 :p

518.jpg

519.jpg

520.jpg

Even Kira snapped one for me. :rotfl:

520a.jpg

Kira with her dessert. :mickeybar

521.jpg

I was chilling in the atrium and saw them come out of Royal Court, then we headed back to the room together.

523.jpg

I headed up to deck 11 to grab my dinner finally and then we watched Ant-Man together while I enjoyed my delicious burger. The fries were cold and limpy though and Rob was kind enough to go back up to grab me some fresh ones.

522.jpg

I waited about an hour after eating and then we headed to the pool.

This was a wild, crazy swim night. The pool was sloshing around quite a bit and because of it, my usual 8 laps across the length of the two circles ended up being more than double that. I loved it!

I had to be extra careful swimming in that shallow seating area because the waves were pretty strong and they would push me either down into the bottom of it or to the sides, which were pretty pointy. Rob was recording me trying to get into that smaller area but it took a few attempts because of the waves, I had to time it perfectly. :rolleyes1

The good thing was that the pool was much warmer tonight and I spent most of the time in the pool, which worked out because the hot tubs were super busy. It was also windy and cold out on deck so Rob had to retreat to the sheltered, warmer chairs. ::yes::

525.jpg

Another awesome, chill day done! :smickey:

Cass, Your so funny! Video of the wave pool looks like a great workout. Best vacation are the ones you can just relax, tune the stress of life out and be happy! Looks like you guys have it down 🥰 family!

I bet it is. My sister once had issues with something kind of basic and then everyday they started getting treats.

It's the only reason I can think of, must be it! :thumbsup2

I think inside, but I have no clue. It was going up from Seattle where it was so windy and they acted like that was pretty normal.
Ahhh! I think most cruises from Seattle do the outside passage. Makes sense.

Wow! Beautiful gift basket! :wizard:
It really was, we were delightfully surprised! :goodvibes

Mmmmm......Palo. We have only ever done Remy once, we did brunch. No desire to do the dinner there. Brunch was amazing but it was a one and done for us. Palo on the other hand.....gotta do it ;-)

awww that is a sweet gift basket to come back to :)

I don't think I will ever try Remy, definitely out of my comfort zone. I am so far from a foodie. :rotfl2:

Another great trip report. I had to catch up with it all as I got way far behind!! You guys are like us, and even when things aren't perfect it's still a great cruise. Too much to comment on, so just enjoying it along with you. :thumbsup2

Yup, the cruise is what you make it. If you dwell on the bad stuff, you will have a terrible time. I always find the good in every situation. If I didn't, I don't think I would be around to enjoy all of our amazing adventures. Glad you're here!

We did the same thing, ordered the Royal Court steak and potatoes our second time back at Animators Palace. Disney is very good about adjusting the menu if you ask in advance. The pool at night would be like a polar plunge! You are a true Canadian.

Yay!! You registered! :cool1:

It was so lovely to meet you guys and chat real quick at Royal Court. ::yes::

I love that they allow ordering from the other restaurants. I could eat that filet with a side of dauphinoise potatoes every night. :lovestruc

Yes, with my intolerance for heat, I like the cooler weather. Rob on the other hand, you'd think he was from the South. :rotfl2:

When Mom and I were on the Fantasy in Oct. we were just one table back and it was an awesome spot for the show.

Nice! I've always been seated in the outside corners at Enchanted Garden so this was a nice change.

YAY! Another C, R & K TR. Love it as usual!!
Glad you could join in. :goodvibes

Awe, thanks for the shout out! We enjoyed meeting you and your family. Happy belated birthday 🎂. Breakfast at the Royal Court with Ronny and the gang was delicious. We had a fantastic cruise and are going on a 3 night in May for Mike’s birthday.

Thanks so much! Loved meeting you guys too. :flower:

Glad you had a great cruise too! We never saw you again after that breakfast to ask how your cruise was.

A birthday cruise is the best, hope Mike has a great bday cruise! :bday:

Wow, talk about swimming against the current! lol
It's a shame about Falmouth, though it was never our fave port so I would have been happy to skip it too (but I know several people who just love it).

Cass, Your so funny! Video of the wave pool looks like a great workout. Best vacation are the ones you can just relax, tune the stress of life out and be happy! Looks like you guys have it down 🥰 family!

It really was, I loved it! I like to do laps on the classic ships after dinner, it helps digest my meal. Can't really do laps in this pool but that night, it came close to a workout.

We love theme park vacations too because we love rides and doing stuff but cruises are the best for relaxing! Theme parks are getting harder and harder to do as we get older. :rolleyes1

It was so much fun, a lively night at the pool :teeth:

I would love to do Blue Hole there but the drive there and back might do me in. :crazy2: We've done Dunns River Falls as well, not sure if want to do that again, maybe if we docked at Ochos Rios like we did on RCCL, otherwise, it's too far of a drive for my liking. :(

March 30th, Part 1

So Rob and Kira headed for dinner, just the two of them. Tonight was the Captain's Gala menu, the one full of seafood and honestly, there isn't a single thing on that menu that I would order so I typically skip this meal to enjoy a quiet dinner by myself. Cass, I am sure you know this, but you can always talk to your head server before the Captain's Gala dinner menu night and they will make something else for you so you can dine with Rob and Kira (unless you like your alone dinner:rolleyes1). When I did my epic Norway adventure back in 2015, I was on the Magic for 34 nights - 4 cruises back to back so lots of repeat menus...my head server was amazing, I had chicken alfredo, mozzarella cheese sticks, spaghetti and meatballs and even a belgium waffle for dinner - he would ask me the night before if I liked the next night's menu or wanted something special. When we did our galley tour, I found out that they have a lot of special requests and they usually have the ingredients onboard for most items - he mentioned that they have a lot of UK cruisers who request bangers and mash for dinner.

March 31st

I can also do this day in one post because I have exactly 35 images, which is the max per post on these boards. :thumbsup2

PSA: For those of you who were asking about my little fan that I carry with me, I posted the links previously for you. I just want you to know that the newer version of it that Amazon offers is NOT the same fan as the one I have. It's quite a bit smaller, less powerful and it doesn't bend, it can only stand up on the end. So, it's nice if you want something smaller but the first link I posted is still the best one. ::yes::

Okay, back to our final sea day of this cruise. Still windy and a little rocky.

526.jpg

Rob and I started this beautiful sea day with our usual morning ritual. 8-)

527.jpg

Kira was fresh outta cookies so I ordered some more, along with some Diet-Coke and Dasani.

528.jpg

Next up was Lion King trivia in The Tube.

529.jpg

We ended up in a tie-breaker with three other teams but the tie-breaker question was about Lion King on Broadway, which we know nothing about, so we ended up losing.

530.jpg

Next up was Pixar trivia. The entire D-Lounge was filled to capacity! We did way better than we thought we would and came in second. 🥈

532.jpg

We stopped to use the cool round bathrooms and Rob ended up taking a photo of the men's one to show me what it looked like. No one was in here when he took the pic. ;)

541.jpg

It was now time for lunch, so we stopped at a very busy Cabanas so Rob could get his buffet on. :goodvibes

533.jpg

Kira and I were going to hit up Flo's after Rob was done but once she saw that there was grilled shrimp, she ate two plates of that and was full. :rotfl2: She doesn't like cold shrimp but loves the grilled ones, so she was happy. We hadn't seen grilled shrimp at Cabanas before.

534.jpg

Rob went and got some desserts...

535.jpg

I went to grab a cookie for Kira, just to try it but they were awful. She said they didn't taste like chocolate chip cookies. I took a bite...:crazy2: Gross! I think they were raisins, not chocolate chips. There's no sign saying what kind of cookies they were but they sure looked like chocolate chip.

536.jpg

While Rob finished his desserts and Kira chugged a whole glass of lemonade to get rid of the raisin taste, I went in search of lunch for moi.

The pool deck was super busy, with a huge line all the way down to get into the Donald pool. At least today it was all in the shade. :thumbsup2

537.jpg

I was loving the burgers on this cruise. They are usually hit or miss for me. I don't think I had a burger on the last cruise but the one before that they were pretty gross but the hot dogs were delicious. This time around, the burgers were really good and the hot dogs were gross. I had to sneak a chicken strip on there too, for good measure. :rolleyes1

538.jpg

Back to the room where I started watching Ant Man. Rob and Kira returned and we watched the rest of the movie together.

539.jpg

Rob had some reading time on the verandah and then I think we started watching Ant Man & The Wasp.

540.jpg

Before we knew it, it was time for dinner! Tonight was the Animation Magic show. :artist:

I always take a photo of Rob and Kira when we first sit down, it's a just a tradition for me. Kira was slightly distracted by Dean tonight. And she had her ears on backwards again. :rotfl2:

542.jpg

Rob's camera is definitely sharper than mine. :smooth:

543.jpg

I went with a short Jack. I took this photo and then realized I forgot to give him shoulders. I fixed that before they gathered them up. ;)

544.jpg

Rob went with a short Clone Trooper. :lmao:

545.jpg

Dean was admiring our creations. He probably wanted to laugh but I'm sure that's not encouraged by the Disney gods. :rotfl:

546.jpg

Kira was way more creative than us and went abstract like usual, this time, with angry eyes. 👀

This is when Fabiano showed us his cartoon drawings on his little paper pad. They were amaze-balls! :worship:

547.jpg

548.jpg

549.jpg

Kira and Rob ordered the same thing tonight...

551.jpg

551a.jpg

552.jpg

Rob decided to get his own ice cream bar tonight. :p:mickeybar

553.jpg

Here's the tail end of the Animation Magic show, you can see all three of our fabulous designs in there. :teeth:

Rob and Kira finally noticed the puppies all lit up in the floor tonight. :magnify:

554.jpg

555.jpg

Tonight we finally got on the Aquaduck! :donald:

557.jpg

558.jpg

It wasn't too busy so Rob and Kira went first and then Kira and I went. Kira wasn't game for another round so Rob and I went just the two of us so we each rode it twice. That was enough for us.

560.jpg

Kira was thinking about going in the Donald pool so I told her I would join her for a bit but when we got down there, there were too many kids in there for Kira's liking so they went back to the room to shower while I enjoyed some very quiet time at the pool.

561.jpg

563.jpg

Eventually Rob joined me for more poolside reading. He always turns his phone into a clock for me and props it up so I can see how much longer I have to swim every night. He's a keeper. :lovestruc

564.jpg

And just like that, our last sea day was over. I could do this forever. :cloud9::love:

Tomorrow we are back at Castaway Cay, after a five-year long break! :beach:
