First I'd like to say thank you for the info on this board. I appreciate all the hints and tips I find here.

I do have a question tho regarding cashing out My Points for the $10 instead of the $25. I was all set to cash out until I did a little figuring.

It takes 6000 points to = $50 (2 - $25 webcerts)
It takes 6750 points to = $50 (5 - $10 webcerts)

That's 750 points I'm giving them! I know that you've done the same figuring yourselves, but I can't figure out why most cash out at the $10 level. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, I haven't been doing the MyPoints program that long.

I figured out the same thing. Great minds think alike. I'm a little nervous though, I just cashed out for a $25 webcert, the points have been deducted from my account, by I haven't received an email yet. Should I worry?

I just cashed in for my first my points webbie at $25! But I think most people cash out at $10 (or the lowest level for whichever program they are doing) is because of the danger of reward programs going belly up. You usually don't have any warning that its about to happen and then you loose all the points you had built.

is completely correct. For those of us that have been doing Reward programs for awhile, we have seen MANY MANY programs go belly up leaving us with nothing. Also RP's change their redemption amounts without notice also.

It is a learned response.LOL

but completely up to you.It is a risk you have to take

Ahhh....ok, that makes sense. I knew there was a reason, just didn't know what it was.

Does MyPoints change RP often? What is their history on changes if anyone knows?

Thanks again!

seem to be a pretty stable program

Points go up and down but I can not remember them changing redemption values.

they may have I just do not remember it.

I also cash out at $10 when I have enough points at MyPoints...Only for fear of losing them, that is all...Sometimes you just never know with Reward Programs...:)

and she always is LOL. Mypoints has been around for ages and is one of the remaining "old timer" reward programs.

I can't remember the last time they've upped the points needed for redeeming, either. When times get tough, they just seem to reduce the number of points they offer through deals or at the site, which could account for their longevity. They have actually been known to give advance warning when they intend to stop offering a GC ( I remember this was true when they pulled the Target GC's).

There was a time when you could get a $50 webbie for 5,750 points but that's no longer available.

Since they seem so stable and are one of the oldie but goodies, I will continue to rack up points till the fall and then cash them in. Trying to see if I can pay for my AP with webcerts. If by chance I lose them, then all I've lost is my time. Anything I buy thru the program, I would've bought anyway. Going thru their site is the only difference.

Thanks for all the responses and keep on clickin for points:D

I have been with My Points for several years, and I'll hold my points for the best deals. I've only seen a few rewards leave (like Target), but then they'll replace them with Kmart or Burger King. I always find something to spend my points on. Have fun.

At certain times of year I build up points faster so I'll wait a bit. Like when I'm doing a lot of shopping for the holidays online.

They have 5750 for $50 home depot, but of course then you have to shop there. Not that I have a problem with that :)
