Cashing in Disney dollars?

We have been saving Disney dollars for awhile to use for meals while we are there. We just decided to change our room only ressie to a package with the dining plan. Can we turn in the Disney dollars for cash when we are there?

You can spend them like cash at any stores there. Not sure if this is still true but you used to have to have your original receipt to exchange them for cash.

I do not have the receipts. I thought I saw somewhere on one of these boards that you could exchange them for cash somewhere in Disney, but do not remember the details.

I also remember reading here that you could exchange them for cash somewhere on Main Street, City Hall I think. I have used Disney Dollars torwards my room reservation at checkin.

Yes, you can. I remember going to the front desk (or maybe Guest Services) and they exchanged the Disney DOllars for cash.

At Grand Floridian I needed cash to tip Valet & only had Disney Dollars. I went to Guest Services and they exchanged some of the DD's for cash.

They may have a limit to the amount you can cash in at Guest Services.

I know you can exchange them at the Main St. Bank at Disneyland without a receipt, I'm not sure at WDW (I don't think they have a Main St. Bank??).

You need a receipt to exchange them at the Disney Store.

Thanks, I was hoping that would be the case. I dont want to be stuck with a bunch of Disney Dollars if the kids dont spend them all. I figured they could break a bigger bill on small things if it looks like we will be taking some home.
