Cash Room with DVC availability?

Hi all,

I am curious about using the DVC room discount on a room and paying cash. I want to add on a night to our vacation and the room is available on points (we are way short. We have 8 the room is 40 so can't add on). The room is also available through the CRO based on the website. Is the block of rooms they sell separate from what they would list on CRO? If there is an available room on CRO I can't book that with the dvc discount?

DVC discount for cash room is often different inventory so all you can do is call and see what they say.

There is no discount on CRO rooms using DVC. There is often a 25% discount using cash on points rooms through DVC MS. You could rent the time from another member or pay for a transfer. Are there other reservations you could rob from so you could get enough points together with OTU points?

I did call MS and nothing was available. I am not sure about renting from another member? I have rented a reservation way back when before we were DVC members but it has been a decade since I have done anything like that. Not even sure even where to look.

We are on a borrowing track this year so I am not sure I have any points to finagle lol...
