I’ve never had a situations like this so I have to ask. We are sailing in a few weeks and we have two state rooms. Officially my mother and I are leads for each room but in essence, my daughter and her two friends will be sharing a room. I have online check-in coming up soon so I’m gonna put down cash to get through the process faster but can let’s say as lead for one state room, I put my credit card down for my charges but can two teens under their name and profile on board put down let’s say a $50 deposit.? They can spend for themselves?

Also, would they pay this at check-in and can they pay in euros since we are checking in Barcelona?

Here this might also be relevant is that some teens are 17 and some are 18 so I don’t know if that makes a difference in state room lead to giving “permission” for charges

I believe each passenger can have a different payment method even a minor, though I'm not sure a minor can have "cash" while the adult in the stateroom has a credit card -- it may need to be a credit card for each otherwise the adult is responsible for the minor's spending. The adult teens (18-19) can put down their own payment methods regardless of other adults in the stateroom.

Keep in mind that unless the auto-gratuities were paid in advance, that will come out of each girls' onboard account.

Gratuities are paid ahead. So that is good

Are you within your check-in window? The part where they ask about payment responsibility? I know you can say you are not responsible for anyone else. Sounds like your situation should be an option covered.

True, but I don't believe a minor can have a strictly "cash" account without being connected to an adult who does take responsibility. Unless something has changed, you can't just put down a $50 deposit and have the account shut off when that value is spent. Parents have been asking to be able to put spending limits on their kids for years and always been told it wasn't possible. I believe the cash account "shut off" point is at $300 or $500 or something.

OP - can the parents provide a credit card for the friends' onboard accounts?

I believe another option would be to just charge to the room and pay off prior to end of cruise at guest services - could be done with a Disney gift card or with other forms of payment. That wouldn't cut them off if they go over, I suppose, but might be easier.

Some good insights think - some things to consider for my end.
