Cash deals at HH

We are thinking of going to HH towards the end of Sept. We do not want use our points and need not stay at the DVC/HH resort. Has anyone had luck in getting a deal at a resort/hotel near the ocean at this time of year either last minute or something like "Priceline"? Thanks

You should check at the DVC at HH for cash prices. Many times they have very good cash deals during the slower seasons. Friends of ours got a 1 BR during Christmas week for something like $119.00 a night!

Last month in the middle of the week a CM at the front desk quoted us a price of $155 for a studio for one night. It only cost us 12 points.

There's a 2 BR at Marriott's Grande Ocsean that's for early Sept for $950 for the week on TUG. There are several weeks available through II for rent for members at $650-750 for a week. There's a week available for exchange at Marriott's Heritage that's 13-20 Sept and it includes free golf to 2 every day from what I understand.

At what point did you reserve your 1BR? I'd love to use cash ressies for a Fri and Sat stay during that time period and use points the rest of the time. Did you reserve when the discounts came out, or earlier?

We stayed at HH using cash instead of points - May 1 - 4th - Staying Wed - Fri nights after taxes, surcharges, etc. the studio was $174 a night.

We reserved everything at our 7 month window. We used points for Sun-Thurs which added up to 85 pts. The $105 rate was the regular DVC rate. Good luck with your reservation. You will love HH.

I stayed at each the Marriott and the Westin last year using Priceline in September. It was $65 per night at the Marriott and a slightly higher amount at the Westin. The Marriott was in a horrible state of disrepair and about to be remodeled (Marriott had just bought it from Hyatt.) Based on info available in the lobby, it promised to be stunning when completed. If it is, I would have no hesitancy in staying there. You might go to www.vacationclub.com and try a Marriott preview package. You are usually put up at the Marriott, Westin, Residence Inn or the real nice resort in Harbourtown. Walter, I also sent you a PM.
