Cash back question - Target Disney gift cards

I know I saw this in a thread a while back but now of course cannot find it. We need to buy some Disney gift cards to pay our DVC dues and I think someone mentioned being able to get cash back when buying them online. I normally buy in the store, but figured I would try online this time for that reason. I have checked Mr. Rebates and Ebates and both say that gift cards do not give cash back, but I figured I would ask if anyone has been able to receive cash back on Disney gift card purchases at Target.com.

If you have a target red card (their credit card) you get 5% off when you purchase gift cards, and you can use a coupon to get an additional 5% off after you join their pharmacy rewards program and fill 5 prescriptions. But I've never heard of money back.

No. The only thing I know of is the near 10% off the previous poster described which you get by combining the Red Card discount with the pharmacy rewards discount. You could buy the cards with another cash-back card like Discover but otherwise, that's it.

I'm aware of the RedCard and pharmacy discounts, which is why we purchase them at Target. I could just swear that I saw someone a few months ago say that they had successfully gotten cash back by buying them online through a cash back website. I use Mr. Rebates and Ebates most frequently, and they both say that gift cards are excluded, but I may just give it a shot anyway and see what happens. Thanks for the tips anyway!

Maybe it was a promotion you sign up for directly through whatever card you're using?

I know people were talking about the possibility of stacking 5% for going through Shop Discover with a special 5% promo for online purchases. I don't know whether it actually worked or not, but either way I'm pretty sure the additional 5% promo is over now.
