If you had to pick one over the other - which would you choose and why?

The last time we rode both but I remember gnashing my teeth in the line - they are both such slow loading rides, so the line takes forever even if the lines are not actually that long! It drove me nuts that they added the 2nd train just as we finally reached the front of the line!! :headache:

This time, we only have 2 days per park and it would be nice to see the new addition but don't think we need to ride both since we have such a short trip planned. Thanks in advance!

EIther one would be my first ride if it causes that much angsnt . otherwise I would omit them from my list of rides althogether..

I love the story book boats and it sounds like they just added frozen elements to the ride so that would be my choice.

I recently rode both Storybook Canal boats and Casey Jr. Both were fun in their own way. I would ride whichever one has either the shorter line or is the one that your family (as a whole) would prefer to do.

If seeing the Frozen addition is important to you (or at least the reason to ride either of these), then I would probably opt for Storybook Canal boats. I don't know how well you'll be able to see them from Casey Jr because it's elevated (away from the water) and moves quicker than the boats.

If I had to choose just one, I'd go with the boats because it's a slower moving ride and you get to see and appreciate more of the displays.

I think I'd go with the boats too. Your a bit lower and closer to things which gives you a slightly better vantage point IMHO.

If neither one is not a must do on your families list I would just skip it or leave it to the end if you have extra time. There is something though about seeing your kids in a monkey cage! :rotfl:

Have a magical time!

Love the Canal Boats! One of my favorite rides in FL. We try to hop in line right after the parade passes. They will reopen the line(it's closed during the parade) and we can get on the 1st or 2nd boat. The line does build quickly though.

I tend to favor the canal boats over the train just due to the stinky exhaust that comes out of the train's "engine." That said if the line were much shorter on Casey Jr I would ride it over the boats.

The boats. I hate folding myself over to get into that train! Although with the way my daughter is I won't have a choice this time.

The boats! This was my favorite ride as a child, I just loved admiring the tiny displays. I'm sad that it will be closed for the update while I'm there next week...here's hoping they open it back up a couple of days early!

Casey Jr. is shorter in duration and also often has a shorter line. Thus, if you wanted to save time, Casey Jr. would probably be your best bet. But overall, I give the nod to the Storybook canal boats for the better ride. I think it is more calming and peaceful, and also, you are in a boat!:)

I prefer the Casey Jr train, in general. I just love hearing that song from Dumbo.... And I always ride in the Wild Animal or Monkey cars..... Love it.

BUT, to see the new Frozen displays, the boats will have a better view. I hope to do both next trip, but normally would pick the train. We got on the first train last trip, because we entered during EE but the train did not open until 9, so some of us lined up around 8:50 or so, and got right on.

I would suggest Casey during the day and Storybook Canal at night because it is so peaceful and magical in the evening. The twinkling lights on the displays make you feel as if you are flying above them. Plus, the line tends to get shorter in the evening as people head out to watch fireworks.

I would really recommend both, and just deal with the lines. The train is fun, and the boats are a nice leisurely ride with narration.

Have fun with whatever choice you make. :)

I too love the Casey Jr. song and riding the train, however, my husband took the most amazing pictures on the Storybook Canal Boats!

Have to go boats. 1) I find it more entertaining with the variety of fairy tales 2) I feel like I get more "bang for my waiting-in-line buck" time wise and 3) the boat is easier to sit in than the various cages of the train (let's be honest, as an adult this now matters as I don't fit in those cages like I used to as a kid haha)
