DAY 3 The Planning Session
Our planning session was set for 9am on Monday, so we decided we would hit up artists palette for some breakfast and catch the first bus over to MK to get there.
I love the flatbreads there, they are so yummy. Mom and I both had the breakfast flatbread
And DF decided to have some sort of omelet sorry I dont remember what kind, but it looks good
On our way to MK we go some shots of our future Disney home BLT we decided to buy DVC instead of paying for a deluxe honeymoon room, I think it was so worth it.
Then we went to hop on the monorail to GF. It had just left and apparently there was just one running that morning, so we had to wait for it to come all the way back around, so I took some pics of the GF in the distance
When we finally made it over there, we got off the monorail and ducked into a little shop to ask where Francks was and they looked at me like I was asking how to get to the moon oh well we found it anyways. It is quite the hike over there, but the views are beautiful
We finally made it over there five minutes late but it worked out okay, there was traffic coming from celebration, so Ken wasnt there yet either.
I had no idea what to expect during our PS, but everything went so easy. 1st we ran through the event plans that I had set with our coordinator, and discussed number of guests and what kind of things we were wanting. Ken was awesome, he is so experienced and he was able to answer almost all of my questions immediately, anything else, he found our while we were talking with rose, so we knew before we left. Then it was time for the cake tasting. We decided to try the white, chocolate, marble, and red velvet cakes with dark chocolate mousse, butter cream, cream cheese icing, vanilla cream, and white chocolate mousse with fresh strawberries, and they threw in a raspberry filling to try since there was space, but we dont like raspberries, so it just sat there. Everything was so yummy, it was hard to decide, but we are going with: 1st layer marble cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries, 2nd layer red velvet with cream cheese icing, and for the 3rd (anniversary) layer marble cake with dark chocolate mousse. We are still trying to decide for sure what design of cake we are going to do, but price will play a role, so who knows for sure. Here is a pic of the cake we really like, but do a 3 tier version of it and use mickeys instead of flowers for the details on the cupcake wrap around layers
This is also another option, we would use white chocolate shavings instead of coconut, switch the ribbon color to one of our wedding colors, and of course use a mickey shape for the detailing, but subtle.
You will have to stay tuned to see what it ends up .lol
Next, we had Rose come in to talk about décor and flowers. I saw this pic and fell in love with the idea of peacock feathers for the inspiration
So along with the praline color of the bm dresses, we are using a dark royal purple and a dark teal, I picked out paint chips from the disney collection and they are called prince charming and neverland. Tried to find pics, but none of them look right online, the swatches are beautiful though.
We also decided to go with green rose pomanders with peacock feathers for the bms, a plum calla lily bout for DF, green rose bouts for the gms, and some purple ranunculus for the parents. We also picked the O-table with ivory linens and alternating purple and teal napkins with ivory chair covers and the purle/teal iridescent ties. For centerpieces there will be all low displays with flowers, peacock feathers, and tea lights for a really textures look.
All that was really left with Rose was the dessert party decorations which we decided on lighted gel cylinders and mickey confetti.
So that was about it for the planning session. We were lucky enough that Misty was on property that day and we squeezed in a quick meeting with her before our tasting. She is the best, and I am so excited to work with her. Since we are having an in park ceremony, we will be using DPS for the ceremony and in park portraits and then Misty will take over for the reception, more portraits and the dessert party.
Next we did our menu tasting. It was so cool getting to go back into the GF kitchens. All the food was so yummy and they were really patient with us. DF had some little details he didnt like so they are making a special plate just for him even though we are doing a buffet. BTW we are going with the Tinkerbells brunch menu. Everything is going to be delicious and I keep telling all my family to come hungry, Disney food is the best.
The whole day was such a blur of planning, that it didnt even register that I had picked out everything for the wedding, so all I had left to do for the time was wait for the BEO and decide on things from there.
Up next .What did we do after the PS???
