Cars Pre-parade?

I was just checking the DL calendar for next week. We will be there Monday through Friday next week. It says, in DCA, that there is a Cars Pre-Parade at 4:45. Then the Block Party Bash is at 5:15. I was planning on the Block Party Bash already, and made dinner reservations at Ariel's for 6:50 PM. I wanted to give us plenty of time to enjoy the Block Party Bash. Plus, I was hoping that it might be a little less crowded, since it's a little later.

Anyway, does anyone know, is the Cars Pre-Parade kinda part of the Block Party Bash? Do they have the Cars, then minutes later the Bash? Any tips would be helpful. We went to DL for the first time last year, and didnt' spend too much time at DCA at all. In fact, if you can recommend a couple of choices for where to stand, that would be awesome. I know my kids would enjoy the balls they throw out.

we were just there for the block party! and went early to check out the cars pre-parade. wasn't much...i was expecting a "parade", but it was just a very short thing! lightening mcqueen & mater were there. they were the actual life size cartoony cars! and there were several crew pit type people dancing & clapping. that's it! really! kinda cute, but it was really short! our DSs (4 & 7) enjoyed it, cuz they really liked the movie. and seeing the characters "live" was kinda neat for them!

as for where to sit...really don't know that, but we sat at that bbbbburbank ice cream store. and it was a good spot, i thought. but i think you have to get there a bit early to get the seats/table. we got there around 4:30...and was planning on getting some ice cream(cuz it was SO hot!!), and so we lucked out to find a table right in the front,and it worked out!
