I am looking for a Car to collect at MCO on 22nd May until June 13th so 22 nights.

We are 2 Adults and 1 Child and want a car to fit in us plus 3 Suitcases and 3Holdalls (can take 2 Suitcases and 4 Holdalls if needed)

I was going to book a Budget car through Expedia going via quidco with 6.9% cashback, yesterday a 4 door Sebring was £448 today its £460 so I had a look on Us Rentacar.

On Us Rentacar Budget has some free upgrades our quote is below

Quote reference no : EM50138Supplier : Budget Rent A CarPickup Location : (MCO) Orlando International Airport, Orlando
FloridaDropoff Location : (MCO) Orlando International Airport, Orlando
FloridaPick up Date : 22 May 2009, 15:30Drop off Date : 13 June 2009, 15:30Number of Days : 22 DaysInsurance Type : Fully InclusiveVehicle Type : Intermediate 4dr A/C (Free upgrade to the Full Size 4dr) Chrysler Sebring or similarVehicle Cost : 456.00 GBP

Now does anyone know if the Sebring is the car you get before the upgrade so actually get a bigger car or is the Sebring the car you get once you have had the upgrade? From reading above I thought it was after the upgrade but Sebrings according to the Website are Intermediate not full size.

We have rented once before quite a few years ago so I am not sure which car we will need. The car rental sites also quote different luggage capacity for the same cars and I am getting very confused and we are running out of time.

We were thinking a 4 door would be best so we can use the rest of the back seat to put some of our luggage on so will we need a compact, economy, intermediate, midsize or fullsize

We don't mind what car we get as long as it fits us and our luggage and ofcourse the cheapest possible price!

Thanks

The car quoted is before upgrade, even after booking and paid for on the confirmation you don't see upgrade car as its not guaranteed. You only get upgrade if available, 9/10 you get it no problem, we always have but some have not.
I would not pay for 4 doors, rented about 24 times now in US every time booked 2 door but never had one, they don't stock them(or very very few)
Last year we got upgrade from Inter to Full size got a Pontiac GP, great car.

Thanks for the reply.

Great Idea about only booking the 2 doors, I will do that!

What is the smallest car you have rented and did you have a problem fitting in all your luggage?

We are flying Virgin and have 2 bag allowance each for the three of us, on the way there it won't be a problem but on the way back we intend to use our allowance!

We have always booked full size (or free upgrade to full size) but never taken more than 3 cases + 1 holdall. never had a problem with them. Sometimes we have been upgraded to Premium or 7 seater then loads of space.

We had a Sebring (intermediate car with dollar thru usrentacar) in California last year and we were 2 adults with 2 cases, 1 holdall and 2 largeish hand luggage bags. This all fitted in the boot (we moved around a lot so we wanted a boot big enough to fit everything in, if we were staying in just one place we'd have hired a smaller car and just put stuff on the back seat as we did for Orlando in 2007) but I don't think we could have got another case or holdall in there. I reckon 4 people and 6 items of luggage would be a squeeze but I guess it could be doable if you're only transporting luggage to and from the airport, would mean items on the floor and maybe on knees aswell as the middle seat. I reckon the free upgrade to full-size will be better for a family, could probably fit another case or 2 in the boot then :)
