Hi there,

When I was at Disneyland last November we couldn't take backpacks into the park due to 9/11. I've read in posts here on DIS of folks taking softsided coolers and such into WDW parks. DH and I eat often and need to have things like fruit and power bars handy. How can I take in either a backpack or cooler? Will they let me in? Do I have to store it somewhere in the park?

Thanks for the help.

I was at WDW for Christmas and was able to bring a backpack in with me. They do require you to open it up so security could check and see what's inside but never had a problem with me bring snacks into the park. Hopefully none of that has change because it does make things a bit easier.

It's like DISorburst said. before you enter the park, security will search through any bags you have, when we were there, I took water/soda in etc, and was never stopped

:cheer2: Thanks for the help DISorburst and Stevelamb. Backpack stuffed w/snacks and water it is!

You can bring a backpack with food, clothes, anything really. I will just have to be searched!!

Yes you can take snacks in. I just got home from BJ''s buying snacks for our trip. I bought water, gatoraid, chips, granola bars, individual packets of cookies, fruit snacks, etc. I will fill our backpacks up and save mega dollars. This way we have more money for sovieneers (sp?)

we take 2 frozen water bottles, and some veggies (celery carrots), sommetimes sandwhiches.

We eat lunch on a bench some place and save $30. x 6 days = $180

And to think that my last visit, I was terrified that security was going to find MY own water bottle I brought with me! Boy do I feel STUPID!

Thank you all for the replies. I'm taking in all kinds of food and stuff. Eating lunch on a bench is such a good idea!

Never had a problem with mints and gum(a single pack of each) plus a water bottle
