I admmit, I am not up on the latest of what you can and can't take on planes now. I feel like every time I turn around they change it, so I have come here for help :thumbsup2 Ok, long story made somewhat short: I am making a Disney goodies bag for my DBF to give to him at the airport of our upcoming trip- in 32 days by the way!!! Anyway, along with a couple items, I have gotten him a Guest of Honor Badge with his name on it, but I was wondering it that's allowed in carry on? Maybe I am just being paraynoid, but it is a pin/button after all, and I would hate for it get taken away after all the hunting I had to do online to get it!! :sad2: Any help would be awesome!!

It's allowed; he just needs to leave it IN the bag and have it go through the scanner, as opposed to wearing it and possibly setting off the alarm.

Really, there aren't that frequent changes. See www.tsa.gov for the link to the list of what's allowed/banned in carry-ons, and what's allowed in checked luggage vs what's prohibited from planes completely

No problem with a button or nametag that uses a pin.

My dd had three of those birthday buttons in her carryon bag and had no problem at all yesterday. Of course, the TSA people kept pulling my bag, back and forth, about 4 times!! They asked me if I was carrying a wheel of cheese in my bag!! You had to see the three of them, standing there, trying to figure out what was in the bag. It was my dd's birthday cake from the day before....a nice big 10" cake, all packed to travel. The TSA people just howled when I told them what it was they were seeing!!! Nice to see they can smile.

Thanks everyone- big relief to know that my surprise will not be foiled by the TSA :thumbsup2
