Carry 2 camera bodies or switch lenses?

I'm wondering if at Disney it would be easier to carry to bodies. Less chance for a slip up when you need to switch from your all around to a specialty lens like a 50 1.4 or an UW...

How many of you carry 2 bodies? How do you do it? I think my DW would kill me but then again she could carry one instead of her trusty POS oops I mean P&S...

I carry 2 bodies, one with my 28-75 2.8 and the other with my 80-200 2.8.
I had optech straps, and right after my trip in january I discovered the optech dual harness which is an awesome way to carry 2 bodies, I've used it for several all day events and it worked really well

Lately I've been putting my old Rebel with the 18-55 around my husband's neck. Though my son will use it too. Then if I want it, it's handy. I usually have a 28-105 on my 50D and carry my 50mm and a tele zoom in my hip pack. I've not tried it at a theme park yet though so we shall see how it works in that environment in August.

My DW has her own DSLR and she usually has a different lens on hers than mine. She has a different sense of composition (better than mine) therefore I have two bodies with different lenses at my disposal should I need it.

We carry 2 bodies, but there are 2 of us. Not sure if I'd try to carry 2 solo or not, I'd probably just change lenses if I needed to. If I were shooting something fast-moving like sports by myself then I'd try the 2 body approach.

the only time I use two bodies is weddings. Other than that I switch lenses when I need to.

No way in hell would I carry two bodies. I'm on vacation, not at a pro photo shoot. If I miss a shot because I don't carry two, so be it. I already carry way too much crap in my backpack.

I carry less with 2 bodies and my vest, and am less burdened..

I didn't mean that as a knock at people who do carry two bodies. In my case, it's not an either/or proposition (either the backpack or the two bodies). I'd carry another body in addition to the crap I already carry. I wouldn't go without any of the lenses, as they bring something different to the table. Another body doesn't do that, it just makes things quicker. Personally, I prefer the added utility of the additional lenses over the added ease/quickness of the additional body.

I agree with Figment - one body only for me, just because I don't think I'd be happy walking around with two. I don't even bring most of my lens collection - I tend to bring my whole kit, but then only travel into the parks with 2-3 lenses at most in a smaller bag. One body is just plenty for me.

Actually, I lie - I do always have two bodies...but one is my ultracompact. That's about the largest second camera I can handle!

I just processed my photos last night from the past week's trip up there, and I could see from the EXIF what my lens change pattern was. In 3 days, I made 14 lens changes, between 3 different lenses. 3 other lenses never got used at all. The fourth day I only used my ultracompact. So I'm not even a frequent enough lens changer to worry about bringing a second body!

Back in the good old days when I was fortunate enough to work for a news agency, I'd carry 2 or even 3 bodies. There were more reasons for me to do that at the time (shooting all primes since zoomed sucked, B&W film in one body and chrome in another, etc) but I loved it.

Now that Im back into photography, I cant wait until I can afford/justify a full frame body. I fully intend to carry 2 bodies at that point (1 cropped sensor, 1 full frame).

Even now on the cropped sensor, I shoot 99% of my stuff with 2 lenses and really miss the fluidity of having a dual body/lens combo even if Im not doing for a living anymore.

sinceI shoot a lot of events and need 2 bodies for that it's become natural for me to have 2 bodies, i think that is the case for a lot of event photographers... my 28-75 2.8 and 80-200 2.8 get me most of what I want or need, when shooting the parades I can shoot a full float, switch cameras and shoot individual characters, hard to do that with a lens change..and yes I could do it with one body and my 28-300 zoom, but then quality suffers, with the optech dual harness I tend to forget I'm carrying 2 cameras when walking around

the funny thing is, although you say you are not at a pro photo shoot..the time effort ,thought and processing skills you put into your shots, is pro level, as are the end results..
