Is the carosel of progress currently open? and if it isn't will it be opening again? Also, I know this is off topic, but how do you put the countdown to your next disney trip at the end of your posts?

COP for the past few years has been openning only during times of higher attendance. Also, when other attractions are down they have been openning COP to "pick up the slack." When are you going to be in WDW? Out of our last 4 trips, COP has only been open 2 of them for the duration of our stay. One trip it was open on the weekend, but not during the week. Hope you are lucky and get to see it!

COP is one of my favorite Magic Kingdom attractions and it was down the last time I went (August 2002)

I heard the same thing.... its open during peak times. However, I've also heard they are going to close it permanently. Has anyone heard anything on this?

We were there last Tuesday and the schedule we got said that it was open only on Sundays -- I guess to coincide with early entry day for the Magic Kingdom. Maybe that means Sundays are more crowded at the moment.

It was open July 4th week. I was glad my children got to see it, even if the old "Now is the best time of your life" song has changed. This one is an oldie but goodie. I hope they keep it open! When I was a little girl we always visited the Carousel to rest in a comfy chair and get out of the heat. Then we'd see "If You Had Wings." Wish that one was kept open too!

Hi, I was at the Magic Kingdom last Sunday, 12/8, and it was NOT open as I checked as it is a family favorite. It was an early entry day though.
