Has anyone used Carolyn Allen's Bridals & Tuxedos in room gown steaming service? I was wondering how well it worked and approximate costs.

Loved it ! Stress-free, affordable !

I shipped our gowns down ahead of time and CA stored them and delivered them for $15 for mine and $8 for each BM. Steaming for all three was around $100, if I remember correctly. Then I sent my gown back with the tuxedos after the wedding to be cleaned and delivered back to my home for $170.

We ordered our tuxes through CA as well and they ran around $130 each. CA brought them to the room, fitted them, returned with corrected sizes and picked them up at the Bell stand the next morning.

All very smooth and worthwhile. They took care of everything and I didn't have to worry about anything other than making the payment and getting the guys to get their measurements done before going down !

I would use them again in a heart beat !

I am all about having this part of the wedding prep to being stress free and apparently hassle free. Thanks for the info.

So, if you order tuxes through CA, do the guys have to get measured ahead of time? How does the fitting process work?

DFi is impossible when it comes to deciding what he wants to wear, he wants something snazzy and over the top like zoot suits, but all the zoot suits we've seen are fairly standard with chalk white pinstrips. I'm worried that won't go with my ivory dress.... Eeek!

I have not yet dealt with CA but I know that for groomsmen that are not local to the selected tuxedo rental shop they just go to one of their local tuxedo shops and pay a small amount of money for measurements to be taken. Those measurements are forwarded to the tuxedo shop that will be renting out the tuxes in this case CA. My guess is CA gets the measurements at least several weeks ahead of time along with the style of tux and then they will schedule a fitting when the party is in WDW.

Love the recommendation about using CA but I have one question. Why for the tuxes does it always seem they they get the wrong sizes - not only CA but I have heard this about so many tux places. If the measurements are given why are the tuxes that are delivered so many times the wrong size and need to be returned and then brought back?

I don't know about everybody else, but we had some problems because one of our best men lost weight, so the original pants size was no longer correct. We did need a couple new shirts and jackets as well, but it wasn't a big deal. Even with all that, I would recommend CA in a second and I would definitely use them again. Sue (the woman who brings the tuxes and steams the gowns) is a sweetheart and very professional. She made the whole process very stress-free, even with the changes we needed.

Oh my gosh, I can't say enough about how great they were with the steaming of my gown and my DH tux. We brought his tux down with us so the woman, Sue, did my dress and his tux at the same time. There was so much chaos going on. We had a leak in our sink and there was a maintenance guy in the room, then we were told that we were switching rooms so she packed up and came with us, steamer and all over to the next room. She was so nice! I believe that we paid about $80 for the tux and dress together. Then they came back to pick up my dress the day after the wedding and shipped it back to my house. Fantastic!

The service was great!!!! Very professional and I thought relatively inexpensive.... no more than a Tux and Pressing service back home!!!!

One Glitch though... for some reason the Tux was way to big for my father, so she adjusted the sizing... When he got the Tux the next day for the wedding the sizing was still off....

But it was still managable... and didn't effect the wedding.

Thanks for all the info. My DF read all the posts and was immediately sold on CA services. We are planning on DFTW next year around Christmas with a honeymoon in the Caribbean. So CA service of shipping back the gown will definitely work for us.
