A major shock to the system today for everyone as we have an 8:30 ressie for Chef Mickeys breakfast. A good chance to have a nose around the contemporary which to me just looks like any other airport hotel in the world. I understand it was totally innovative in its day particularly as it was built as a steel structure then each individual room was built and slotted in like drawers but to me it just looks boring. As we enter though I must admit its fabulous – really light and airy. Checked in at Mickeys and after the family photos were taken we we promptly seated. We had a fabulous breakfast and had Chefs Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale and Pluto come to see us by turn, many photos were taken and napkins were twirled. I’ve never seen Callum eat so much at breakfast and we sure got our moneys worth. Stopped for photos with Chef Goofy before leaving, we were going to head for Epcot but as it was now past 10 o’clock thought we’d go back to MK, a short monorail hop and we’re there again. The park was quiet so we stopped for nice photos in front of the partners statue and Cindys Castle then headed to Fantasyland, Rode Winnie The Pooh again as Ruth and Reg had missed this one then stopped by Philharmagic again for the same reason, I love this 3-D show and could easily watch it again and again.
Rode It’s a small world again then followed up with snow white. Watched the Hall of Presidents which was a first for us and must admit it was very good considering so much of it obviously goes over our very British heads.
Much shopping has also been done now and sent back to resort for collection tomorrow – what a great idea and so much easier than carrying stuff around and worrying about the kids leaving it on rides etc.
We watched Cinderellabration which was ok, I didn’t think it was as good as the ‘surprise celebration’ show they ran the past couple of years, but I suppose I can see the attraction for the little girls with the princessess. We watch the country Bears again as Reg really enjoyed this one then headed off to Splash and BTMRR for more fun.
We take a ride around on the main railroad too, I forgot how nice this is and those old steam engines are just beautiful.
A repeat for Pirates and we manage to catch the Tiki room which enchants Callum again, Dan Ruth and Reg seem to really like this one too, My mum dislikes it and I’m in the ‘its okay’ camp.
Tomorrowland beckons and we all manage to get on the Indy car speedway which is a good laugh, it amazes me why this doesn’t have a fastpass as I’ve never seen less than a 20 minute queue for it even on a quiet day.
Of course I manage to thrash everyone in Buzz lightyear but I did promise not to mention it so we rode the TTA around and around.
We went to Stitchs great escape which is my sons number one although my mum and I both thought it was very lame, It was slightly better than I remembered from last year but I still left feeling they could have done a much better Stitch ride (especially as they seem so keen to push Stitch)
We grab a counter service from Cosmic Rays and settle on the bridge from Tomorrowland to get a good view of Wishes again. Unfortunately we were too close and it wasn’t a great view but it was the best burger of the fortnight so that kind of made up for it.
Back to the hotel again for the kids to swim and us to get ready to hit the Malls tomorrow.
Dream of bargains and Presidents

Another great day at MK. Chef Mickeys sounds cool. I must admit, I've always fancied the idea of staying at the Contemporary just because it is so different.

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

Thanks once again

I'm glad you enjoyed Chef Mickey's (my fave restaurant) and that you had a good day at MK :)

Another great day. I liked the Contemporary and I was fascinated at how quick the lift went up I wanted to have another go but Alan wouldn't let me.

I agree with you that Indy cars should be a fast pass. As ours kids enjoy it especially our youngest DS we always have to queue
