The 110,000 ton Carnival Glory is scheduled to arrive at her new home of Port Canaveral today. The ship is scheduled to arrive around 5pm following a 12-day transatlantic crossing from the shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.

I'm seeing her back end right now, I think.

You can get a view of her pulling in to port by going to:

ohiominnie,

I'm shocked, you shouldn't be talking about Rae like that, you should be ashamed of yourself!!!

BD told me to say that!!!

when is it due to leave? will we see the Magic on the cam Sat morn?

Yes, the Pride is going to be repositioned. The Glory will take over its itinerarires from the port.

An excerpt from the Port Canaveral magazine:

"When the new Carnival Glory sets sail on her inaugural cruise from the Port on July 14th, her 'godmother' Dr. Sally Ride, will crack the traditional bottle of champagne on the hull at a dockside ceremony."

Unless I am totally mistaken the Pride and Glory are 'sister ships' in the same way as the Magic and Wonder are.

Actually the GLORY is quite a bit larger, at 110,000 gross tons, compared to the 85,920 GT PRIDE. :)

The Glory is really a sister ship to the Carnival Conquest, and both were built at Fincantieri, the shipyard where the Wonder and Magic were built. :)

I'm betting the Glory will be very popular out of Port Canaveral!

Okey dokey. :)

I was pulling the sister ship thing from memory, it was in an older PC magazine when it was first mentioned the Glory was coming.

I'm going up to the port to wave the Magic good-bye (and take my brother who moved back home from being in NYC for 3 years to see the ship we'll be on in Nov.) so I can't wait to see the new Carnival ship. I have friends that are sailing on it 1st week in Sept.

My DD15 is sailing on the Carnival Pride out of NYC to Bermuda next Wednesday on a 7 day.

she was invited to go with a friend. Gee, these teens these days....I have never even been to Bermuda or didn't cruise until the Magic back on 7/29/98.....she has already been on 8 DCL cruises with us and now a cruise to Bermuda!!!! This makes 4 cruises for her in the last 12 months!!!

Since she has never been on any other cruise ship before she is quite excited about comparing the Magic and another cruise ship. She really is interested in checking out the Teens programs and promises to give me a full report when she gets back....she commented the other day that with DCL she knows exactly what to pack for each night because we have so many times...but now she does not know what to pack for this one.

My parents are scheduled to sail on the Conquest this November!

DS9 took his first cruise on DCL June 21st with us. It was our first cruise as well.

Tomorrow (Sun.) he leaves Miami on Carnival with EX to return to 2 of our four ports! Lucky kid!

Anyone know of a "port cam" in Miami that I can see?

I am anxious to hear a 9 year old's comparison of ships, excursion arrangements, etc.
