Caribe Royale?!?!

Please tell me all you know about the Caribe Royale Resort. Should we stay there? HELP!!!

I would stay there in a New York minute. It is beautiful and apparently has great service as well as beautiful rooms.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience at the hotel. I realize that no where is perfect all of the time but I with all the choices in Orlando, I cannot in good faith recommend this place.

First let me say that the pictures make hotel look awesome. And, in some aspects it is. The pool for example was really cool with a waterfall and slide for the kids. The pool is large and never seemed crowded.

Our disappointment was in the room itself. The room was not clean. The carpet in the room (as well as in the hallway) was filthy. Not only did it need a good sweeping but it also needed a shampoo. We did call and voiced our disappointment to the front desk who told us that was the only room like ours available (I cannot remember the type of room, but it slept 6). I found this hard to believe because the hotel seemed empty. They did not even offer to send up a housekeeper to vacuum!

Also, luckily we only spent 1 night here. As stated above the room claimed to sleep 6. We put our 4 kids to sleep in the beds and we intended to sleep on the pull out sofa. I am not a novice traveler and realize that these things are uncomfortable - however this was the pits. There was a definite lack of support and I felt like I was sleeping (or trying to sleep) on a raft in the ocean. My husband moved to sleep on the filty floor! At this time I didn't call the front desk because of the earlier experience.

However, when I arrived home I did send the management a letter. The reply I received was - "sorry we'll look into it". I felt this was the canned response and that nothing would be done.

My recommendations -- We did stay at the Amerisuites in Calypso Cay - this is a hotel that I can recommend. Also, for the money - stay at one of the less expensive hotels in Disney.

to be fair - I have heard of very good experiences here. We just didn't have one. I hope that if you select this hotel things go better for you. It may have been just bad luck on our part.
