After figuring it out, there's only $9/nt difference. We are a family of 4(5yr old and an 18mnth old). Are they both about the same distance to DW? Anyone who's stayed at either of these and has input would be great.

Thanks!

Caribe Royal is near Downtown Disney, which is serviced by an excellent bus system,is within 3 blocks of DD also. The HIFS is off of hwy 192 outside the main gate East.::MickeyMo

OP is right, the hotels are near each other. They are of both right off 417 on 536. Neither hotel is walking distance to DTD.

CR is a convention type hotel. I think your kids would appreciate HIFS more. HIFS also has a kids eat free program and if you stay before the end of the year you'll get breakfast free.

You want a rental car with either property.

We are thinking of staying there next sept. I understand it will be a Nick hotel by then. Will they no longer have free breakfast?

I'm afraid not. The free breakfast ends as of Dec 31, 2004.

we are staying at hifs and we rented a car i was told nothing is in walking distance, but i think it is a nice hotel

The won't have the free breakfast but I was told that kids eat lunch a dinner free at the new Nick restaurant.

The Caribe does service conventions, but there are 3 towers and families are put in a separate tower than convention goers. After staying at the Caribe 3 times, we booked the HIFS when it was brand new. We checked in, saw the room, the pool, the restaurant, and immediately checked out and went straight to the Caribe. The HIFS has exterior entry doors for the rooms, and the Caribe has interior room entrances. The difference in quality was huge to us. I know there are lots of HIFS fans out there, but if the $$ difference isn't much I would choose the Caribe in a heartbeat. It has a great pool w/slide as well.
