Caribe Royale - Is it nice?

Hi there! I'm unexpectedly getting the chance to go to WDW over Christmas! Yeah! I usually stay at Vistana Resorts, but they're booked. They have a "sister suites" arrangement with the Caribe Royal that they offered though. Can anyone comment on the quality there? I tried search, but I keep getting hung up. Any assistance is hugely appreciated!!

I've stayed at Caribe Royal but not at Vistana so I cannot compare the two. The suites were clean and in good shape. The set up is pretty typical - like your standard Embassy Suites. We stayed on the first floor which was convenient for walking to the lobby where they serve the complimentary continental breakfast.
Or you can hop over to the main building where they serve buffet breakfast every morning. I thought the hotel was nice and the public areas were attractive. There were more conventioneers than families when we were there. I thought the swimming pool was kinda small for the size of the hotel. I know Vistana has many pools on property. Caribe Royal basically has 1 main pool and 1 wading pool. But it may not be an issue with you since you are going during Christmas.

We've stayed at the Caribe numerous times as a family and have enjoyed each visit. They try to keep families in one tower and conventioners in the others. ds and dd 9 and 7 loved the pool area w/slide. I liked the convenience and choice of a quick b'fast in the tower lobby or the big hot buffet in the main dining area. It does resemble an Embassy in many ways. It is very close to DD for shopping/eating and a quick drive to the parks. We also did the vistana "tour" one year for some universal tickets. It is my favorite "off-site" property by far.
