We are splitting our 14 days between 2 resorts. POR is our favorite so thats a given. But its a toss between CB and CS for the other half of time. Which has the better kid attraction - such as pools, etc.? What about the food courts - how do they differ? How much bigger is CB ? I've heard there's not much shade @ CS. Any info on selling me one way or another so I don't go insane would be much appreciated! I'm sooooo confused!

CSR has the best pool of all the mods. check out pics at my website below

Coronado Springs!! We gave our 10 year old his choice of all the resorts and he chose CSR again. He loves the pool and 2 game rooms. It is a beautiful resort with so much to do. We really like the Pepper Market, too!

:D

Both are great resorts but I would choose the CSR first. It has better theming and as far as the pool is concerened, it has the best of the moderate resorts. I wasn't too thrilled with the system of paying at the Pepper Market at CSR, but the food was good from what I remember. The food court at the CBR is good, too. I like both resorts, but the variety in theming at the CSR and because of it's main pool (especially the slide), that would be my first choice. Have a great time.

In my opinion CSR was inpersonal, not really a Disney feeling resort, more of a convention center. It wasn't awful by any means, clean rooms, Pool was smaller than I thought but nice, service O.K. But nothing for me to brag about. We are going again this May and we are trying out CBR. Peylog

We like CSR a lot:earsboy: It is a convention facility, but when we've been there, not much "business" was going on. Nice place to stay.

I recommend CBR. The pool at CSR is bigger and nicer than CBR but at CBR the pool is close to the food court.

We didn't like the food court at CSR because of the 10% tip. I also like the theming better at CBR. If the pool is a big deal then go with CSR.

Overall I would pick CBR.

As many posters have noted, the pepper market (with the 10% tip) is a major drawback to CSR.

The way I look at it - you pay for table service (10% tip) but only get counter service.

Also, I didn't like that you had to go through the check-out line even if you were only using refillable mugs.

We stayed at Coronado Springs during Christmas/New Year and found the resort very accommodating. Probably as with all Disney resorts, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and offered us the space we needed, especially since we were there only to sleep.

We stayed in Ranchos, Building 7A which was located right behind bus stop number 3. We found this to be extremely convenient. Buses were not full because, the route usually ran 2-3-4-1. Most guests were waiting a stop 1, so we were always able to be seated on the trip to the parks.

MGM is a short drive away, but Magic Kingdom and especially Animal Kingdom proved to be a bit further out.

Since we were there in the winter season, we did not use the pool, although we saw many people using the heated pools even when the temperature was a bit too cool for our taste. The large pool is really impressive, and there are 'quiet' smaller pools that surround each of the three resort areas. The lake has sandy areas that have hammocks for an afternoon siesta.

Even though the resort is HUGE, it still has the charm of a smaller resort. It is great for a early morning or late evening stroll if you didn't get enough walking at the park.

We found the Pepper Market to have a wide variety to suit everyone's tastes. Even with the 10% gratuity that was included, the price was right.

I can't make a comparison to the CBR because we have never stayed there, but I hope that this information helps.

I've stayed at both and thought CSR the better of the two. Now CBR was great too, but for some reason CSR impressed me even more....

The pool at CSR was awesome and I thought all the buildings and landscaping, etc. was much better also.

I was very nervous before I arrived at CSR. I though there was no way I could like it better than CBR, but I was wrong!

While the resort is huge, it's so nice.....and if you're lucky, on the way to the Main Building, you might get a ride from one of the CMs on the back of a golf cart

So far though, we have lucked into great locations at both resorts though.

And as much as I liked both CBR and CSR, next time around I may give POFQ a try.

Well I've never stayed at CBR, but I very much enjoyed my stay at Coronado Springs. The rooms were clean & the atmosphere relaxing. If you like Mexican/American Southwest architecture, you'll love it.

Others may disagree here, but I found the resort to have a bit more of an adult feeling to it, probably owing to the convention business. I didn't see many kids there when I visited, and no characters were running around.

Nonetheless, the resort has a great pool, a health club, and the Pepper Market food court, which was nice and convenient. I do recommend you stay in the Casitas or Cabanos sections though, as they are closer to the lobby & food court.

One side perk of Coronado Spring is the efficient bus transportation. Since most people are away at a convention, the buses here are rarely crowded, and (at least during the time I stayed), did not share with any other resort, which significantly improves the wait times. Hope this helps!
