Next month my husband, my parents, and I are planning to stay at CB, but after reading more about it I'm a little nervous that it might be too big for my Dad. He is older and cant' walk too much. We have stayed at POR before and know what it is like. (We always stay in the mansions and love them.) That is a fine walk for him. It is not too far from the food court. In comparison how far are Martinque and Trinidad North to CB food court. Also do you have have more information on the internal bus? What do you use it for? My husband an I stayed at CS for our honeymoon and did not like it. We thought it was too big. To far from the pool or food court depending on where your room was. Is CB like that one? Please tell us anything you think would help. We wanted to try something new but, should we switch to POR?

Thank you so much,

We haven't stayed at CB but did go visit there last time we were at WDW and I felt it was bigger than POR. It reminded me size wise of CS when we stayed there. If you end up at one of the farthest rooms it will be quite a long walk to food court.

We were going to stay at POR but do to the work there doing we changed and I'm glad we did I've heard nothing but good things about the CBR, I think you will be happy there...

Here are some size comparisons:

CBR - 2112 rooms surrounding 45 acre lake, 7 bus stops

CSR - 1967 rooms surrounding 15 acre lake, 4 bus stops

POR - 2048 rooms surrounding Ol' Man Island (I believe I read somewhere this is 3 1/2 acres, but don't quote me, I've never stayed here), 4 bus stops

You decide. :)

Where your room is will decide how far the walk is.

We have stayed at CBR with a less than 5 min walk to food court and at PO-R with a 10 min. walk.

Ask for a room closer to food court.

There is usually a bus stop with in a few minutes of each room.

We stayed at the CBR a few years ago in Trinidad South, and the walk to the food court was about 15 minutes from our room. We had decided not to wait for a room in Martinique because the room in Trinidad South was ready and the one in Martinique was not. It wound up being our biggest regret. I felt that the resort wouldn't have been so cumbersome if the Trinidad South section wasn't there.

I would suggest putting a request on your reservation for a room near the main building, and having the reservation clerk say it is for medical reasons because your Dad has difficulty walking. I've done this for my last two trips because I have a chronic foot problem that makes walking very painful at times, and my request has always been granted. Disney does seem to go out of the way to accomodate for medical reasons.

CBR is a nice resort. We have stayed there twice and will be staying there again in December. The internal bus you referred to is a bus that runs only around the resort. It picks you up at the Island you are staying at and takes to the food court with stops at all the other Islands, too. It is a great altenative if you don't feel like walking that far. We have never used it; but it is nice to know that it is there if you want it. It diplays the fact that it is an intenal bus across the top. We saw it many times when waiting for our bus. We were there in July of this year and the wait for a bus was never very long.

However, if you feel more comfortable staying someplace you are comfortable with and know well then stick with POR. I would like to stay there someday, too. But have been happy with CBR. My mom liked it enough to suggest staying there again.

Hope this helps!

I have stayed at both. I was at Jamacia a CBR and Magnolia Terrace at POR. The bus can go around at CBR. Jamacia wasn;t a horrible walk, but DH is lazy and complained about it the entire time! He was 24 and in perfect health..I can't imagine him when he is 80!

Anyway, I think the bus system was easy and close at both, but I think if you stay at CBR you should request Martinique. You should be fine with that...I am a huge fan of trying new resorts..so I say try the CBR and stay at Martinque. I hope you enjoy your stay!!

We were in Trinidad North and did not feel the walk to Port Royale or the pool was too long. Maybe 6-8 minutes.

I love the CB resort. I would recommend you staying there. Yes it is a huge resort, but the resort is worth it. Is beautiful and peaceful. I would try the resort, I really think that you will enjoy it.
