We have stayed here before, but don't remember how long it took the shuttle to get to Magic Kingdom. Does anyone know?

We would be arriving at the resort around 10:00 am and would like to put our bags in storage until we can check in. However, we would not be coming back to the room until late that night. Does the CB have a service where they will take your bags to the room for you?

Also, I have found a great one night rate for $144 - $159. What is the difference in a Standard room and a Premier Room ? There was a Waterview in between, but we are not interested in a view.

One more question...what building is closest to the Old Port Royal area?

I believe Triniad North and Martinique are the closest. If I am wrong someone correct me! I don't know about the transportation time though. A preferred room is closer to the food court, so I would really try to swing that if you are relying on the CBR internal bus system and don't have a rental car. Also, the 159 rate also is a king bed rate and those have varied views. So a preferred room is either closer to the food court, or to the main pool.

The bus ride was about 15 min from what I recall. Actually the bus service at CBR, at least when we go at the end of August, has always been totally excellent.

Oh, by the way, the first time we went there, I REALLY wanted Trin. North, I mean really, really bad...but we got Jamaica, so I had to grin and bear it, but what happened was I ended up loving Jamaica so much that now it is always our first request, I love walking over the bridge to go to OPR, it has never taken us longer than 3-5 minutes (depending on which building we get) to get to OPR and the walk over the bridge, to me, is very enjoyable. Just my 2 cents.

firefawnkimmy - Do you mean that the $159 rate is a King room and called the Premier room?

We requested Triniad North and Martinique once before and ended up with Barbadoes...we loved it!

Trinidad North and Martinique are prefered locations costing extra. I wouldn't spend the extra for a waterview room but would pay to be in a preferred location.

All the rooms are decorated the same inside but the Villages are painted different colors on the outside. If you visit my website below I have lots of pictures and a map of CBR. You will love it there.

I second the 15 minute ride...its not so bad.....nime to chat with others..
We met this canadian couple once that were histarical..They reminded us of the osbourns ...hehe

Thanks for the pictures and the memories. I remember the bus ride and how my daughter (15 at the time) and I bonded on those rides. I just couldn't remember how long the ride from CB to Magic Kingdom was.

Lol sorry about the non-specificness! I wanted to add that the King room price (which is what we looked into) is the same price as the Preferred Rooms there. BUT I am not sure who all is going with you and if you are looking for two doubles or a King room, b/c King bed locations can not be guaranteed and still cost extra, whereas a Preferred Room costs extra and can be guaranteed to at least be close.

We are needing the 2 queen beds. I was hopping the Premier room might be a larger room, but apparently not.

Has anyone tried to get a rollaway for a 5th person in a room at the CBR?

No larger size rooms at CBR. They are all the same size.

I stayed at CBR fall 2003. I seem to recall Epcot and MGM being very close rides, 5 min. Animal Kingdom farther 10+ min. and Magic Kingdom being the farthest 15+ min.

On the way home from the parks was when it got hairy.
I always tried to leave the park at an off peak time so that I didn't have to wait in a super long line for the buses. I waited in a super long line (maybe 45 min.) one night and said never again!

I would also recommend the CBR island buildings across the bay. I stayed in Aruba, it was quiet and marvelous with a beach and hammocks right outside the room. And VERY close to the bus stop. (great for coming straight home) I rather enjoyed the short walk every morning across the bridge to Old Port Royale, that small island is beautiful and there are lots of native animals to see along the way. From what I could see, Jamaica was very nice too. Has a playground.

Last year we stayed in Martinique. It was not real close to the Food Court but I guess it depends on where in Martinique you are staying. We liked it, the resort was beautiful. I would not pay for a waterview room again, didn't seem worth it.

I had two small children with me so I would request the buildings closest to the foodcourt and baby pool if we went again.

It would have been nice to have a map of the place until almost the last day of the trip (they didn't give us one at check-in and we didn't know they had any to ask for one). The first few days we sort of wandered around to find a bus stop by our villa.

The busses didn't seem too bad. We waited forever for one at AK and TL. The lines were long when the parks closed. Also my DD almost got severely injured at DTD when the bus arrived and we started to load this big crowd of people rushed the bus and was crushing her. Another guest held the crowd off when he saw her getting trampled. It wasn't CBR's fault it was DTD's fault for having no crowd control even when I ran down there for help. However, the staff at CBR fell all over themselves to make it right.

Some minor things happened, yes, like it could at all resorts (they forgot to bring us our luggage and we waited forever and had to call several times)But all in all it was wonderful and we will go back again I'm sure. Probably not in the near future as we are wanting to try several different resorts to experience different things.

We stayed at CBR last month and it was great. I concur that bus ride is a nice 10-15 minute ride to MK, However, it depends on where you get on because it does a circle around CBR and stops at all villages.

We stayed at Martinique # 25...very close to food court and pool. We originally had requested Jamaica but the more I thought about it, I wanted to be closer. So at check in I asked about the upgrade. We had a great CM and she not only got us in the closest building, but gave us a great water view on the second floor. I think Martinique is closer to the Old Port Royal than Trinidad North because you don't have to cross the parking lot or Pool area first to get to it. We loved Martinique and thought it was definitely worth the 10 bucks extra a night. It's nice in the morning when I'm still half asleep to walk out of my room and have the Old Port Royal right there to get my coffee. I did, however, walk around the entire lake, and all villages are great and none of them really that far away. That island is pretty nice, however, we ran over to the food court and pool alot so we were glad we were close. We could also watch the Epcot fireworks from the little beach at Martinque.
