Can anyone comment on this resort and the new renovations done? We are staying in Aruba. How is the transportation to and from the parks. Can we get a taxi or rent a car to Seaworld from here?

Thanks so much . This is my first time to disney, need to know all I can before May.:Pinkbounc

We just returned....7 wonderful days!!! We were in CBR, Trinidad North (3356), 2nd floor, king bed, lake-view (well sort of). The room was great - clean, nicely decorated. Maid service was good. The grounds were nicely maintained. Transportation was excellent!! Never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus, but keep in mind all of WDW was not very crowded. Food court was good. We ate at Shutters (good, but over priced). This was our first time at a moderate (we usually do WL or AKL) and I was nervous, but everything turned out wonderfully!!!

Let me know if you have any other questions about the resort

Wow! Thanks so much for the quick response and input. Glad to hear! We booked at Coronado and then my gut said to change it to CBR. How is the walk to the food court and main pool? Again, we're staying in Aruba and some of the reviews have said that it is nice and only about a 10 min walk. Noise level decent at night?

Any good places to eat that you would recommend in the parks for kids?

The length of the walk depends on which building you get in Arubu. Looking at the map buildings 51, 52 & 53 (in that order) seem the closest to the bridge. Then 54, 55 & 56 being the furthest. I would say the walk would be under 10 minutes if you get the cloer buildings. We were the last building (the furthest) in Trinidad North and our walk was under 10 minutes. I even did it carrying a platter of food for DH & DS....and let me say I am the most out-of-shape person you will ever meet!!!! LOL

Noise level was fine at night, it was fine during the day too (for naps). It was cheerleader week and one day they were up early practicing (7:00am), but that was OK.

DS is 2yo and we ate at:
*Donald's Resturantasaurus (no idea how to spell that one) at Animal Kingdom for a character breakfast
*Hollywood & Vine at MGM for a character breakfast
*Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom for a character dinner
*Flying Fish for a "BIG" night out. DS came with us and although things went fine, I felt a little bit uncomfortable with a 2yo
*Rose & Crown Pub at Epcot for dinner
*Beirgarten in Epcot for lunch -- hands down DS LOVED this one; kept his attention for the entire show, clapped his hands

Great interaction at all the character meals. At the one at Hollywood & Vine, Pluto got down on the floor to play (on all fours) & took DS's toys with him. DS got down too and played with him for several minutes (highlight for me!!)

How did you like the character breakfast at the Animal Kingdom? We're taking the grandkids there this summer.

We enjoyed the character breakfast in Animal Kingdom. We've done it two seperate times (once in April & again last week) and the food was good & the character interaction was great. I love seeing Donald Duck! (DS enjoyed it too :D)

Jerzgirl,

We stayed at CBR last year, in Aruba #52. The walk to the main pool/food court never took longer than 6 minutes. It's fun walking over the island, too!!

One plus about staying in Aruba. It is the second stop for the busses, you can always get a seat. Many times by the time we made it to Trinidad, there were no seats available. And they thought they had it made being close to the food court!!

Aruba was quiet too!

Thanks so much for the information. by chance, did you request to stay at Aruba or is that where the resort placed you upon check in. I was told by CRO that you can request a particular place but it is not guaranteed that you have that location upon checkin.
