Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

What I have read is that it is about 70-90 minutes for drop off and you will leave CBR about 3 hours proior to your flight.

So you would probably arrive around noon on Sunday and the ME bus would leave CBR about 3:30 on Friday. (if my math is correct:goodvibes)

This would be accurate. We've never had to stop at any other resort first, every time I've done ME, at CBR we are dropped off first and the other resorts next. We've never gotten there less than 1 hour though, so count on at lest 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours.

quick question....if we check in before our room is ready and decide to head right to the parks, what do we do w/ our carry ons? Do they have a place to store them at CBR? Also, what do you usually do, pack a smaller bag in your carry on for that first day at the park so you can just take that?

anyone??? I don't want to have to drag my carry on to the park, I am hoping there is a storage area or something....

There is a luggage room at all resorts. Normally it's located at the main building. When you check in they can point you to where it is located. They'll be able to hold on to anything. If you have anything like a laptop let them know. They'll put it in their "cage" where they keep fragile and high value items.

I hope this helps.

When you arrive at CBR, you'll be dropped off at a building called the Custom House, where you'll see if your room is ready. If it's not, just give your carry-on bags to Bell Services, right there at the Custom House -- they'll hold onto them until you return to pick them up - no problems!:thumbsup2

thanks so much!

The pool gate on the Trinidad North side of the main pool was always locked when we were there in June.

Thanks for the info. It was locked when we were there last Sept. too, but that was right after the reopening. I was hoping they had changed it. Oh well.

I was wondering if there was a microwave available to use in the food court/grab and go area. My DD still loves warm milk in the morning and night. She will drink chocolate milk cold, but not regular milk. I was always able to heat it up at the value resorts, but have never stayed at CBR, so I was unsure if there was a microwave anywhere. Thanks in advance for the info.

There is a microwave in the OPR Food Court.

Hi, The fridge at CBR does not have a freezer section, correct? It doesn't seem like it in the pics linked in the FAQ's, but I guess it's wishful thinking! LOL! If you brought a cooler to the parks for cold drinks, did you just use ice cubes from the ice machines? We did this last year (had no freezer at the Poly) and the cubes melted quickly while we were out. Turns out our soft cooler had a small hole in the lining, and we would "leak" everywhere. One day I had it next to me on the train, and it got the back of my pants. Looked like I had an accident! LOL!

can anyone tell me how the hairdryers are at CBR, are they decent or should I bring my own. My first time staying there, so excited.

For the sake of not reading 100 pages, I may ask something that's been covered and I apologize ahead of time.

We are all over the place on a resort for 1/2010. It's especially difficult since no good rates are out yet. So, I subscribe to yet another resort thread.

Here we go:

So, unless you pay extra to stay in a Pirate room (mostly Trinidad), the rooms will soon be all Nemo themed? And they started this renovation in Martinique?

Where are they on the renovations? Complete? Halfway? Certain villages?

Any preferences over preferred vs standard rooms? We really struggle with this. DH hates every room anywhere we go when he first walks in. After a day, it's fine. Are there any really bad locations?

We will probably rent a car so buses are not an issue. But if we don't, any opinions on the bus situation at this resort? Please, be honest.

Tell me everything, in a nutshell, of course. And I'll do my best to research myself as well.

TIA!!!

There was a hair dryer in our room in June and I recall one in our room when we visted two years ago as well. I think that is standard.

The hairdryers are wall mounted outside the bathroom, by the sinks. Some DISers say it works fine, but many find it too weak. I have baby fine, short hair and have to bring one from home. So, depends on your hair.:thumbsup2

Hi! In a nutshell ;)

1. The renovations were finished last year
2. Trinidad South are Pirate rooms (extra cost)
3.All other rooms are Nemo (mild theme - wall border and if you look carefully can find Nemo on the bedspread - photos at the beginning of this thread)
4. We always book a preferred room and request Martinique, but it is a pretty walk from any of the other Villages. I don't think there is a really bad location at CBR, but you could certainly request whichever bldg might work best for your family.
5. Buses - we've never had a problem with bus and have stayed in Martinique 5 times. We find the buses at the deluxe to have terribly long waits - so when we stay deluxe we chose it by the park we will visit most to cut down on bus waits...but that was not your question.:rotfl:
Our fave mods are CSR, FQ and CBR - we find CBR to feel like a vacation within a vacation - so tropical, so pretty
Good luck with your decision making and happy planning! :goodvibes

Personally I hate the wall mounted hair dryers. I don't think they put out enough air when blow drying.

We love the preferred locations. We recently had a room in Jamaica and it was great but really enjoy Martinique. There is no difference in the rooms. The only difference is the location. Even if you are in Trinidad South it is only about a 7 minute walk.

I have never had long waits to take the bus.

CBR is our favorite resort.
