Caribbean Beach construction pictures

Is this the only area they are working on - the main beach and near the bridge?

We are going in 2/08...I know construction will be going on, but hoping to be able to be put in Trin South or something to not hear it all the time!

In Feb. the main pool will be closed. You can keep up on the work by reading the first post of the CBR FAQ thread. Link listed below.

Just got back and the construction did not impact my enjoyment of the resort at all. We were at the pool several times and the only annoying noise I heard was mowing and weed whacking.

It is really a very small area that is under construction. The island is still lovely with music playing. The beaches all around the resort are still lovely.

I did not see dust or debris or anything that should dampen the magic.

We did see two divers in the construction area one night -- I have no idea why they were working so late!

They have sunk poles in the lake, guess we need to stay tuned to see what they are doing.
It sounds like you are talking about pilings in the lake. Pilings look like telephone poles, and are driven very deep into the ground -- they provide a sort-of founation for buildings in coastal areas where the water table is too high or the ground (such as sand) is too soft to provide stable support for a building. They are also used for piers and boardwalks.

If those "poles" are pilings, then that means something will be built on top of them.

Yes pilings is what I meant to say. It's hard to tell what they might be building, it looks like a short deck.

Thanks for posting this :) We'll be there in 2 weeks and I was glad to read your comments!

It looks like a dock. Don't they have a Pirate Cruise at CBR? Could this be a new loading area?

From the pictures of the construction barriers it looks like the view and ambience walking over the bridge to OPR has been completely ruined. I paid for disney magic and pixie dust not construction dust.

Very disappointed :sad2:

I agree, the pictures make the bridge look like an ugly tunnel. I would rather be able to see of the bridge and watch the contruction.

On the flip side, my 1 1/2 year old son will pee himself with joy over seeing the construction equipment.......if you can see it.

I didn't get any notice about construction either.

We just returned from CBR last night. The construction wasn't a noise problem for us nor did it affect the pool. As a side note, I was surprised at how small the main pool is and the small number of lounge chairs. The construction does, however, affect the recreation. We rented boats and you can only go in the main lake area now. They told us that they are draining the other lake areas so you can't go past the bridge that goes over to Old Port Royale. We still had fun (my DD loved being able to drive her own boat!) but a half an hour is more than sufficient because you are stuck in the one little lake. Also, yesterday morning we went to ride bikes. We had already paid and were climbing on when they came running out and said they couldn't rent out bikes right now. Apparently, the path near the construction has been closed so they couldn't rent out the bikes. I wasn't too happy about that since we left this activity for our last morning and we were looking forward to it. The recreation people also seemed frusrated about all the restrictions. So if you are planning on some recreation activities, I would check about the construction impact.

I will be staying there the next couple of days. I will report back if I find anything out.
