This would be me. ;)
Good luck this afternoon. Might I recommend a shoebox, a small hole and burial. This always seemed to help us as kids.

I plan on telling them she died, it's a part of life right? Anyway, we will bury her, right next to the dog and other guinea pig at my parent's house. I plan on taking them and picking out a new pet this weekend. It's just really sad, she was soooo loved and she will be missed! They will be heartbroken, I'm sure lots of tears will be shed!

I am sorry.

When I read your title I was all ready to answer rooster but then I read your post.

Ours died on Christmas, we went to bed after midnight and I gave him a couple carrots before I went to bed, so I know he was alive. When we went down to open presents he was dead...the kids were sad but the presents and celebration and family made it a little easier.

Do you have any photos of the GP? I made a real nice photo collage and framed it for a keepsake.

Oh...been there. Very sad. Good Luck.

When ours died, my daughter wanted her buried next to our cat and dog in Ohio (we live in Md). My brother has a little pet cemetery with every dead pet for the past 40 years (incl a pony) We weren't planning on going to Ohio for several weeks. We had to keep her frozen till we went. Good thing we have a deep freeze:eek:

Oh my, I know how you feel- the other GP that we had fell off of his pigloo and snapped his spine so I had to have him put to sleep and my parents were away for a few days so we had to keep him in the freezer. My BFF came over and went to pull something out and saw the baggie with the piggie wrapped in a towel and when my DD told her who it was I thought she was gonna have a heart attack!

My DD asked me for photos, now I'm upset because I think all of the pics I had were on my camera that was stolen a few months ago! I might have 1 or 2 on my new camera but I'm not sure, I have to dig it out and see.

I told them yesterday afternoon- it went about as horrible as I expected. I'm talking curled-up-in-a-ball-on-the-floor-hugging-each-other-snot-and-tears-wailing so bad that the neighbor came over to see if everything was ok! We will def be going this weekend to get another but probably 2.
