Has anybody ever listed themselves on Care.com for their services like babysittting, petcare or senior care? I was just wondering. I am totally bored and need something to fill my days now that I am almost an empty nester. I guess my other option is volunteering. I have been a sahm for the last 20+ years so getting back in the workforce would be tough, and I am not sure what I want to do.

I am using an Aide to care for my dad. She is a retired lady that I found through a friend but I did initially look at care.com. One thing I would recommend is looking at taking a couple of classes if you are going to be doing people care.

CPR, First Aid, Medicine distribution, and a couple of others. Our state offers them for fairly cheap.

Our Aide is pretty good, dad is her first client and when dad first came home from his stroke she made about $1600 per month plus her retirement income. Yes I pay this out of pocket. We are now able to cut her hours down to about $925 a month but that does pay for a few things at Disney. I thought about doing that in the evenings to make up what I have been putting out for my dad's care.

I hired my nanny from there. And I hire my sitters while at Disney world from there. Very happy with it and love I can find people with background checks n everything in minutes .

My daughter has had two full time nannying jobs from listing herself with Care.com. It did not take long at all for her to start getting interviews and when she moves out of state for graduate school this fall she plans on listing again for the area she will be in.

IMO I would love to have someone like you as a sitter for my son and I am sure a lot of parents would!
