Car Seats and Shuttles

Has anyone had any issues with travelling in shuttles? We have a 5 year old and 2 year old. I have looked at the laws in California which state that kids 6 and under need car seats, however the shuttles will not supply them. I wasn't planning on bringing the kids car seats all the way from the Aus. I have also heard that some shuttles don't even have seat belts! Anyone have any experience with this?

I have no idea but I hope someone does. I have a 4 year old and a 3 year old and was just planning on having them on our lap in the shuttle. We are only going from the airport to a motel for the night and back and its pretty close by.

We had this issue when we went to Japan earlier this year with our (then) 16 month old and 3 year old. We ended up getting a private car, which cost us a small fortune, but was SO worth it for the extra peace of mind, not to mention less hassle of having somebody meet us and help us with all our luggage.
