I'm traveling to DLR in June with my then 15 month old for my sisters high school graduation present from me. She wants to go to that Pirate dinner thing and I was wondering if anyone knew of a company that would have a car seat either a taxi or town car service as I hadn't planned on bringing one with me. We'll take the Disneyland Express to VGC which is what I did last time but I don't feel comfortable in a taxi or town car without a car seat.

Thank you

I don't know if any taxi companies will provide a car seat. Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in.

Sorry I don't know who to recommend. You needing a car seat though is not a matter of comfort level, but you in fact will need one legally in California if you have a child under age 8 and under 4'9" tall. Buses do not require car seats but vans and cars (i.e. taxis) do. You'll have to contact taxi companies directly and see if you can make arrangements to have a vehicle with a car seat, since they do not readily have them on board the vehicle.

When we took a shuttle the other week, I noticed a booster in the shuttle. I would call around. The only prob is 15 months is still pretty little!

Pretty much any limo/sedan/town car company will offer toddler seats if you call and ask. We have used a company called Crown Limo in LA in the past, they had carseats.
I believe that taxis are considered public transportation, and you are not required to use a carseat in a taxi (although, with a 15 month old I wouldn't be happy without one).
I can't help with a taxi company, though. A town car is going to cost more than a cab. Can you contact the pirate dinner place and see if there are shuttles? There must be lots of people with your question.

I totally feel your pain! We have a 2 1/2 year old and a 7 month old. If I was in your situation I would buy a new car seat just for traveling. It doesn't have to be expensive, just protect your child in the event of an accident. And I think you should be able to check the car seat for free on most airlines.
Good luck,
Tracy

You DO have to have a carseat in a taxi. Anything with seatbelts.

If you don't use a car seat you have a couple options. Hire a limo(expensive) or take the bus(cheap).

If you do use a company that provides seats, you need to be able to know ahead of time what they are. Many are expired or recalled. Additionally, they may be installed incorrectly, so you need to be able to check them when you get there. Some companies charge as well. For $50, you can get a cosco scenera to bring. It is FAA approved so you can install it on the flight as well and not have to worry about the cargo people destroying it.
