Car Rental

Has anyone rented a car from the car care center in WDW? If so how was the experience?

We did a couple of years ago. When we went to pick up our car we were informed that the car class that we reserved was sold out and that we would have to pay for an upgrade. I expressed my displeasure which no one cared about, take it or leave it was their attitude. We won't rent from them again.

Our regular agency with excellent service is Alamo at the Dolphin.

We did once about 8 years ago. The experience was fine. In fact we had a midsize rented but since they were out they bumped us up to a Pacifica at no additional cost. That was awesome. But I always just rent at the airport now. The rest of the family takes MDE so our luggage gets handled and I meet them at the resort. That way when we leave we just drive back to the airport in the rental.

I rented from the Car Care Center when I did a solo trip. I just wanted a car for a couple of days to shop and go to church. I made a reservation ahead of time so I knew exactly what I would be paying. They will pick you up and drop you off anywhere on Disney property. I thought it worked great. When DH and I travel together we always pickup/return from the airport because he brings his scooter but Car Care Center worked fine for me. I have also used Alamo at the Dolphin when DH was not with me and that was great because I usually stay at BWV.

We prefer to pick up at mco or at the Dolphin. We have a car this May we are picking up at the dolphin and it is cheap and easy. We are staying at BCV so it is a quick wslk

Lots of discussions on car rentals over on the Transportation board also. We use Dollar over at the hotel across from the Marketplace. Hertz is also just outside maingate and will pick you up. So don't restrict your thinking to the car care center - shop around.

I've never had a car rental charge me for an upgrade if they didn't have my class of car in stock. Since Alamo/National is at Car Center & Dolphin and is the same mgt not sure what the difference would be. I have rented from BOTH Car Center and Dolphin as well as Shades of Green ALL Alamo/National. Car center will pick up up from your hotel and also if you are dropping off they will return you to your hotel (on property). Service has always been good. Join National or Alamo rewards programs, specials sometimes pop-up.
