Does anyone have good advice on how to rent a car for 1 day only after arriving at WDW?

We will be staying at BCV & I heard that you can rent a car at Swan or Dolphin.

you can walk to the S/D from BCV but if you know what day you need the car I would book it. you can always cancell.

National/Alamo are next door at the Dolphin. You can check rates at www.nationalcar.com. Discounts are far and few between for a single day rental, but you might want to try some of the codes over at www.mousesavers.com . Good luck!

If you can do all of your running in the first 24 hours, I'd suggest getting the car at the airport and scheduling your return at the Dolphin. The Dolphin desk is often staffed with only one person and if you happen to arrive for a pickup at the wrong time, you could be standing there quite a while. Last time I went to pick up a car I waited 45 minutes. IMO, it's much easier to get a car at MCO.

To drop off the car at the Dolphin, you just leave the vehicle near the valet parking lot. Painless.

And don't forget that you can take 24 hours and still get charged for only one day. If your flight arrives around noon, schedule the drop-off for 11:30am the next morning. Even if you don't feel like running your errands the night you arrive, you can do it the next morning.

We rented a car for a day last week. We used Dollar, they have a location at the Grosvenor Resort which is by DTD. I called the day before for a pick up. They came right to the CBR main lobby. After dropping the car off, they took us right to Epcot. And the best thing was the price was $40 less than Alamo/National for a bigger car.
