Car Rental vs. Towncar Service - Expert Advice Desired!!

My mom and I are going to D-World for the week after Christmas, normally a very busy time. I was planning to surprise her with a Towncar, but am now wondering if we should rent a car. We were planning to rent a car one day (we are staying at the Dolphin, and since they have a rental counter in the hotel, we were going that route for the one day), because my daughter is doing the college internship, and really wanted us to come visit her apartment one day. Now, when I start looking, it might be comparable to rent a car for the week, rather than towncar it each way, AND rent a car for a day. Here are a couple of questions:
1. Anyone have any great codes for rental cars? - my first look last night wasn't super promising for rates.
2. If we rent, do we get free parking at the Dolphin?
3. How about parking at the various resorts/parks?

I've never done the town car thing. I always find it much easier. Want to go somewhere, jump in the car. No ned to be dependent upon a late bus for the parade or PS.

As for codes, it's against board policy to post codes. I can tell you that if you are a DC member, National has some great deals.

For parking, self parking is free, valet costs $6 per day. Theme park parking is free for WDW resort guests.

If you look under Mousesavers there are discount codes for rental cars. I just did a search and the best rate I got for Dec 16 - 25 was by far through Dollar; for a compact car(Dodge Neon) for 10 days it was $214.00 including all taxes and fees. BTW, I only searched onsite rental companies at MCO. We are still going to go with Tiffany Towncar because even with the cheapest rate through Dollar it was double what Tiffany will cost.
